POSITION TITLE: Sr Project Manager
Using strong project management experience and knowledge of device development and industrialization process, the project manager collaborates with internal cross-functional departments as well as external Contract Manufactures to plan, manage and drive project activities within agreed quality, scope, budget and time. Communication link between Marketing, Operations and Research & Innovation organizations to drive quality and predictable execution for project launches. Active participation in identifying new and improved processes that will result in effective cost reduction / harmonization programs for new or existing products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Guide Marketing on new product brief creations, and ensure delivery of phase gate deliverables. Own Feasibility Costs and COG analysis.
Strong project management, interpersonal, cross- cultural, communication, negotiation and problem solving skills.
Lead Internal and external Core Team meetings, have a pulse of the projects and develop high performing team.
Develop and maintain a Master Project Plan, schedule and track project with team members. Mentor and coach Project Engineers.
Ensure that the Project History File is current, accurate and manage documentation and communication needs for the project, ensuring all quality and regulatory standards are met.
Lead strategic discussions by connecting key information and resources to anticipate and address problems before they emerge. Ensure projects remain aligned with the project plan.
Exhibit out of box thinking, creativity and resourcefulness in a sometimes evolving and ambiguous environment. Show resiliency and flexibility and provide clear direction
Actively identify and manage issues and risks, and drive mitigation plans.
Inform Leadership and Gatekeepers Committee by communicating critical project status information (project plans, status, financial estimates, risk assessment, etc.).
Drives activities at the supplier(s) to ensure that production start-up through to scale up to increased volumes are achieved within launch requirements
Manage the Project Lessons Learned process by identifying improvements and leading changes to current project management processes, systems and tools.
Perform other duties as necessary or required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or a related technical discipline (mechanical engineering preferred)
Minimum 5+ years' experience in project management, preferably in the device industry or related field
PMP certification from PMI a plus
French Language skill is a plus
Travel to vendors and plants will be a requirement (15-20% of time)
Proficient PC skills - MS Office software and capable of building presentations on Excel and/or PowerPoint. Also Proficient in the use of MS Project.
Good communication skills, to be able to deal effectively with all levels of our organization AND our suppliers.
Good organizational skills to manage the documentation, materials and information.
Assume Leadership role of Brand Development team and special projects as needed.
Develop and maintain a professional knowledge of new or emerging trends and technologies.
