JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Team

You will be part of the Store Development team responsible for designing, building and delivering retail experiences; this includes new construction, remodeling, and repairs and maintenance.

About the Role

Looking for a smart creative person to direct and partner with the development of assigned projects from Real Estate site selection through construction completion including estimating, bidding, scheduling, procurement, construction management, punch list, and project close out.

  • Review design and location criteria with real estate and design architects

  • Establish construction budgets and schedules, based on design and deal criteria.

  • Review plans and evaluate specifications for assigned projects.

  • Establish Workletter scope and manage landlord provided items as defined by the lease.

  • Review value engineering of projects with design team, Director of Construction and general contractor.

  • Negotiate contracts with general contractors and assist purchasing manager with vendors.

  • Prepare, solicit, review and analyze construction bids with Director of Construction.

  • Collaborating closely with design team to achieve best expression of each brand at each location

  • Coordinate with purchasing manager on the selection and delivery of owner provides items.

  • Review and approve technical submittals with store planning, architects and engineers.

  • Conduct frequent construction site visits to evaluate progress and construction practices.

  • Direct general contractors with frequent meetings and performance evaluations.

  • Monitor and coordinate environmental testing and abatement issues.

  • Coordinate and follow-up on punch list performance.

  • Assist repair manager with warranty issues and major capital expenditure projects.

  • Manage Construction Coordinator with assistance from Director of Construction.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

We're excited about you because...

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in construction management or architecture.

  • Eight (8) years construction experience -- management of 20 projects per year.

  • Five (5) years minimum as retail construction project manager.

  • Ability to travel 40% to 60% of the time and work independently.

  • Computer knowledge -- Excel, Word-processing.

  • Budget management of 25 million per year.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong negotiation skills.

Department Description Department of General Internal Medicine (DGIM) delivers care to approximately 26,000 patients. DGIM has three floors over two buildings on the Mount Zion campus. DGIM delivers primary care to these patients as part of a larger UCSF primary care service line. Job Summary This position functions as the Project and Data Analytics analyst for UCSF Department of General Internal Medicine. The analyst will primarily be responsible for creating and overseeing other analyst work to help drive results that are established by departmental goal setting and transitions. The analyst will use experience, knowledge and skills to oversee and/or conduct a variety of activities and projects for quality, production, and service improvement initiatives at the practices. Analyst is responsible for the creation of monthly reports affecting quality improvement, provider productivity, and operational issues. Analyzing results, making recommendations, and implementing new processes. The position will support the patient centered medical home initiative, representing the practices at meetings and planning next steps. They are responsible for working on various projects as directed. The individual must be detail-oriented, have excellent people skills and be thorough and able to proactively communicate issues or problems. This position utilizes the electronic medical record, APEX (EPIC), within the scope of a non-clinical superuser which includes the production of reports and assisting front line staff with learning the system and how it supports newly created workflows. Also responsible for developing and analyzing reports within APEX and training the leadership team and providers on how to use them. Involved in supporting leadership personnel with sensitive matters and therefore must maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times. The individual must be flexible and adept at juggling multiple projects and tasks with competing priorities. A high degree of software and computer skills are essential.
