Abbott is looking for a Sr Project Manager; this role will be part of the Digital and Analytic Services (DAS) team in the Commercial, Digital and Innovation (CDI) group in Business Technology Service (BTS)

Provide technical leadership and oversight in analytical solutions development as related to business intelligence/Analytics projects

Participate in creation of technology strategies and technology roadmaps in business intelligence and analytics

Use data and insight to innovatively solve business problems, drive superior customer experience and transform our business

Core Job Responsibilities

Strategic & Technological Oversight

  • Recommend and drive innovative solutions, which anticipates the future direction of the business, its drivers and solution strategy

  • Drive globalization of business capabilities and determines redundancy and re-engineering opportunities

  • Collaborate with technology leaders, business partners and peer groups regarding long and short-range BI/Analytics goals and strategy

  • Collaborate with BRMs and the Business to advance ideation to impactful solutions that are meaningful to the business

Project Management Oversight

  • Responsible for project management and business analysis tasks

  • Plan, initiate, and manage BI/Analytics projects

  • Serve as liaison between business and IT

  • Documentation of requirements and scope

  • Monitor & track milestones and maintain project status communications

  • Management of project resources and costs

  • Project execution and delivery on time and under budget

  • Partner with Product Owners to align the roadmap with the technical design and strategy.

  • Review and ensure application designs are consistent, maintainable, flexible and cost effective solutions

  • Ensure effective systems operations between the suppliers and Abbott Plan/Build organization

Expedite, manage, and coordinate a multitude of interrelated activities within constraints of limited human and financial resources and changing priorities. Complies with quality system. May be required to establish / manage project budget. Develop project specifications and objectives, strategies, timelines and milestones/design and development plan. Utilize project scheduling software to plan and track projects. Identify resource requirements, cost, and time schedules. Develop an implementation plan, conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to accommodate unforeseen events. Translate project goals into project tasks. Define the nature of the stated business or technical problem. Develop alternatives to business problems. Assist management in selecting the specific action plans that will best meet the identified business issues. Anticipate long term future problems, resolve current issues, learn and adjust based on prior results and prior project leadership experience. Assure that projects will effectively integrate with existing programs and strategies so that long and short term business goals are attained. Recognize the broader implications of actions and proposals on the final project outcome, related systems and activities, and general business strategy. Prepare and analyze project progress reports to keep management and team informed. Identify problems, their resolution, trends, and their impact on project success; propose recommendations for management action. Analyze data for true causes of problems. Negotiate project outcomes and deliverables to meet the conflicting demands of time, money and deadlines. Maintains project expenses within budget. Drive cross-functional teams to meet milestones and deliverables established in project planning and agreed upon with senior leadership May function as the project contact with third party vendors. Solicit the cooperation of a diverse group of disciplines and functions in a tactful and persuasive manner. Job Accountability/Scope: Accountable for total project scope; completion within budget constraints and scheduled completion date. Provides feedback to team members on performance Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a discipline appropriate to the project. 7-10 years of experience. Has successfully led at least two projects from beginning to end. Demonstrated technical skills and management judgment appropriate to the project. Demonstrated skills in project management tools and processes. Coordinate input from multiple areas or multiple project managers on related projects or sub-projects.
