Overview

This role requires to be in office at our TPC Pilot Plant (Dallas, Texas) 3 days a week and at our Process Lab (Plano, Texas) 2 days a week based on projects.

Our R&D Global Process Centers (GPC) are the heart of innovation and development for Global R&D. Our facilities provide small, mid, and full-scale equipment across Core and Breakthrough technologies to enable R&D Engineers and Scientists to deliver against solid growth plans, develop future innovation solutions and unlock capability and productivity for PepsiCo. This role will have a unique opportunity to be part of our global R&D process center team which encompasses 4 key Tier 1 sites: BCIC (Monterrey, MX), Beaumont Park (Leicester, UK), TPC (Texas) and the Process Lab (Texas).

As a Sr. Project Engineer for the GPC, you will be the key plant contact for capital investments and partner with R&D Engineers to land investments across our Texas facilities. This role also provides the opportunity to stay connected to the PepsiCo Foods North America (PFNA) business team, as a key contact for launching innovation.

In addition, this role will have accountability to partner across Global teams to elevate our operator training programs, build safety subject matter expertise related to PepsiCo change management process and machine safety, and have direct accountability for developing a long-term capital strategy for our site infrastructure needs.

The Sr. Project Engineer in this role will gain valuable experience navigating our Capital process, driving process engineering solutions to boost our capability, gain fundamentals of change management and machine safety to unlock the ability to execute with speed, build technical depth across food process operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all GPC site capital projects to enable robust and safe installation with direct partnership R&D Engineers; ensure appropriate change management process is leveraged, all training active and validated and site perspective is included throughout process design/installation.

  • Lead all Facility Capital Projects. Develop appropriate scope and lead project through to completion.

  • Develop 5-year Capital plan for all Global Process Centers, in collaboration with site leads to ensure both facility needs and capability are maintained for R&D trial needs.

  • Lead process engineering solutions required.

  • Lead and develop our new capability to launch innovation for in-market sale. Enhance approval process, connection to business systems and execution as opportunities present.

  • Develop & implement an enhanced operator training strategy which can be utilized across all GPCs. Identify key gaps, set approach for resolution and partner cross-functionally and externally to accelerate talent growth

  • Develop long-term view of infrastructure needs (both for future innovation development and maintenance) across GPCs to deliver on holistic mission and recommend critical investment timing.

Compensation and Benefit Details:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $72,500 - $121,300 based on a full-time schedule.

  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.

  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.

  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Education/Certifications: BS Degree in Engineering

  • Work Experience: 3+ years of process design/development experience

  • Previous experience working in or with supply chain manufacturing teams

  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills

  • Independent execution of project creation and execution while aligning key internal stakeholders

  • Ability to influence, collaborate and communicate across levels of organization

  • Demonstrated capability to effectively manage complex projects or multiple projects simultaneously

  • Demonstrated understanding of how to incorporate business needs into technical decisions

  • Ability and interest to work in pilot plant and manufacturing scale environments

  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States
