The Sr. Motor Project Engineer will report into the Aircraft Group Electronics design organization. With the increasing industry focus on MoreElectric Aircraft and Electric Propulsion, this exciting opportunity will beinstrumental in the creation of innovative new technologies and new products drivingfuture growth.

The Sr. Motor Project Engineercan expect to:

  • Plan, organize and execute projects related to electric motors in the

Aircraft Group. Projects can includeIR&D creating new technologies and products, new applications of moretraditional flight control systems requiring BLDC motors, sustainmentactivities such as cost reduction, weight reduction, supplier development, etc.

  • Coordinate A&T of prototype motors including for example souringstrategies, special processes, dynamometer performance testing, coordination ofcontrol electronics, cooling systems, etc.

  • Work in collaboration with other motors designers and support staff inthe other Moog operating groups including the EMTAT team to alight technologyroadmaps, identify gaps in processes, etc.

  • Define and refine tools, analysis methods, validation techniques, keyprocesses, etc. that help Moog maintain and build on this key competitiveadvantage.

A qualified candidate shouldhave the following experience

  • A master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering and at least 8years of experience designing, building and testing motors for aerospaceenvironments.

  • Alternatively, a bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of relevantexperience experience.

Our lines of precision motion control technology can be seen at the forefront of military and commercial aircraft markets, space exploration, and oil and gas markets to name a few. Moog is currently seeking a Senior Development Engineer to join their Aircraft Group in East Aurora New York. This candidate will be interface with quality and design engineering on manufacturing issues. The current tasks would include being responsible for the common Actuator Control Unit (ACU) Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) and Electronics Box transition to production. This includes Design/Development of test equipment for use by designers and production. The tester development includes hardware design and programming. Test equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, general support including making updates to improve production throughput is also integral. Troubleshooting and resolution of product entry into service (EIS) product concerns is also key. Transition of products and test equipment to supply chain and support thereafter is also an important role. This position will lead test equipment and EIS issue resolution efforts for the purpose of providing successful transition of designs to production. Successful candidates will have Labview, MS Project and PowerPoint expertise. Here's what you'll work on: * Create successful transition plans for electronic designs moving into production and eventually into the supply chain. * Participate in and assist with supplier training of test equipment and/or providing test equipment requirements to aid in their development at the supplier. * Lead cross-site efforts of New Product Introduction (NPI) for engineering and test aspects. * Lead technical problem-solving efforts for complex electronic assemblies to resolve systemic non-conformances. Must understand overall specifications/requirements and be able to troubleshoot to root cause. * Work closely with quality, manufacturing and test on Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA). These are the skills you'll bring with you: * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 7 years of relevant experience or Master's degree in the field of electrical engineering with 6 years of relevant experience. * Proven specific capabilities in the technical aspects of test (SW & HW) * Proven capabilities for troubleshooting Electronic Hardware * Proven ability to lead others * MS Office skills required.
