Job Overview:

The IT Quality Assurance & Analysis Team of Laboratory Corporation of America (Labcorp) has an opportunity for a talented Project Analyst to join a motivated and productive team in delivering enterprise-level solutions. The ideal candidate has successful experience defining software systems and supporting teams throughout the project lifecycle. Our team is dynamic and growing so there is opportunity to be involved in all areas of the system development life cycle and have exposure to full project lifecycle including development methods.


  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions

  • Develop clear, concise and testable User Stories, Use Cases, and workflow analysis

  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver functional requirements, use cases, user stories, and user interface designs.

  • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans

  • Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development team through which requirements flow

  • Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams, support teams, and business partners/vendors

  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs

  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver functional requirements

  • Provide input into Test Plan creation and support test plan validation as required for QA.

  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously


Normally requires a B.S. Degree in Computer Science w/7+ years of experience.


Expected Background

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical, business, or healthcare discipline

  • 5-10 years practical experience in a Business or Systems Analyst role supporting both Waterfall and Agile SDLC.

  • In-depth knowledge of Agile techniques, theory and practices.

  • Ability to write, clear, concise and testable User Stories, Use Cases, and workflow analysis

  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence

  • Experience in using enterprise-wide requirements definition and management systems and methodologies required

  • Understanding of enterprise application development, from understanding underlying database design to developing for multi-tier Web applications

  • Ability to analyze complex administrative processes and computer systems, identify problems, develop logical conclusions, and implement effective solutions

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

  • Ability to reduce abstract ideas to easily understood procedures

  • Must be able to work independently in the absence of supervision

  • Ability to be highly organized, motivated, flexible, and a team player

Acting with autonomy and accountability, the Project Manager will ensure that the project potential is realized and that the customer is delighted, while adhering to the project defined triple constraints of cost, scope, and time, inclusive of change requests. The Project Manager must clearly understand the project objectives, along with the business requirements, and act as the primary interface with the customers to set the agenda, manage customer expectations, develop and implement a risk mitigation strategy, proactively resolve issues, negotiate appropriately, and communicate internally and externally, utilizing the Genesys methodology to lead the project to success. Achieving internal financial goals via project predictability and financial rigor will be paramount. Additionally, the Project Manager will look to expand our services foot print through strategic and collaborative partnerships with sales, the project team, and the customer. Project Management is a key role within Genesys Professional Services and requires not only defined skills and experiences, but also the right attitude. The Project Manager must provide authoritative leadership to the entire project team, taking ownership and responsibility of the project and outcomes. The Project Manager must also build strong and positive relationships with the key stakeholders, exhibiting high Emotional Intelligence and becoming their Trusted Advisor. Responsibilities / Job Duties In this role the primary responsibilities include (but are not limited to): * Responsible for project management and ownership of multiple, concurrent small- to medium-sized or large-sized Genesys practice or solution engagements, adhering to the Genesys methodology. * Proactively and predictively manage the project(s) including developing work plan, scheduling resources, setting goals and priorities, ensuring deliverables are met, reporting project status, tracking and resolving issues, and customer acceptance. * Full ownership of the financial variables within the project; lead the project to completion within the originally defined budget with consistent and recurrent financial status and projections both internally and externally. * Implement change management process on engagement. * Be content knowledgeable with specific experience in one or more Genesys practice or solution areas. * Follow standard Professional Services Operational process and guidelines. * Ensure engagements are on-time and on-budget. * Identify additional sales opportunities resulting from engagement work. * May act as engagement manager on a project. Key Accountabilities * Achieve profitability goals by providing high quality and efficient delivery services * Work with assigned team to help forecast and achieve delivered revenue objectives on a quarterly basis * Achieve customer satisfaction goals – internal and external * Contribute to greater good of organization Required Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Business or relevant course of study, required * 10+ years of combined industry experience in Call Center technology, including 5 years of Project Management experience. * Strong technical background in a Professional Services function that includes software solutions, hardware, Operating Systems and Private Branch Exchange knowledge. * Good verbal and writing skills; ability to make presentations to business and technical personnel; ability to do Knowledge transfer * Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment * Project Management Professional certification a plus Special Position Requirements § Travel 50% About Us: Genesys® powers more than 25 billion of the world's best customer experiences each year.
