The Opportunity: We are seeking a Sr Programmer to join our team in Michigan or Florida. Under minimal supervision perform complex computer programming activities requiring a combination of systems analysis, design, programming and quality assurance. Implement solutions to complex business problems based on business requirements. Job responsibilities generally performed under deadlines and may be subject to heavy workloads.
What You'll Do:
Develop, modify and maintain assigned complex programs including real-time transaction processing applications using a variety of platforms and languages (SQR, SQL, PL/SQL, XML).
Make modifications to core system applications and ensure integrity with future releases.
Provide production support on existing distributed platform applications.
Test assigned programs, verify the logic, perform necessary debugging, and write documentation.
Provide guidance to lower level programmers and analysts.
Review specifications and offer suggestions to alternative methods and approaches.
Certify and troubleshoot external application interfaces.
Investigate alternative design approaches to determine best solutions to a problem, taking into account user needs, subsequent modification and resources.
Confer with users about deficiencies in programs, suggest solutions and convert programs.
Investigate and resolve support requests.
Adhere to established security policies and procedures.
Provide input to program design techniques and program analysis and testing methods.
Utilize, handle and research confidential account information.
Act as team lead as assigned.
On call support 7x24, 30-minute response, as needed.
Occasional travel for training, conferences, and disaster recovery or offsite equipment support.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Five years current programming experience.
Two years current experience with MS Visual Basic.Net, and C#.
Three years' experience with the Windows operating system.
Two years' experience with MS Office suite.
Consistent positive, cooperative, self-motivated, courteous and professional attitude.
Ability to verbally communicate appropriately with others, and appropriately respond to a supervisor.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including effective verbal and written communication.
Extended hours and/or alternate schedules, as required.
Extended duration of computer terminal usage.
