The Senior Program Manager (Core Team Leader) will lead a cross functional team to deliver best-in-class products and a competitive advantage for the business in support of the strategic plan. The main responsibility of the Senior Program Manager is to drive successful completion of product development program(s) following a structured process in compliance with regulatory and business requirements. Teams routinely take a new product concepts through multiple phases of the product development process to commercialization. The Senior Program Manager will lead the efforts of defining the product scope and program plan, lead the cross-functional team in decision making, and drive program execution to ensure milestones are met as outlined in the program contract. The Senior Program Manager will create and implement training, tools, metrics, and communication to facilitate team performance and stakeholder alignment. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for ensuring team commitments (scope, project contract, and budget) are met and communicated in a timely manner. The Senior Program Manager will lead efforts for the program's annual budgeting process as part of the R&D organization. The Senior Program Manager will report into R&D while also being accountable to the Coronary Structural Heart (CSH) Program Review Committee (PRC).
A Day in the Life:
Works to establish a competitive advantage through new product development projects and commercial launches in support of an overall product portfolio.
Balances cross-functional considerations to recommend overall program execution strategy
Leads cross functional team(s) in product development that will have a significant impact on the long-term success of the Structural Heart business
Uses leadership skills to ensure that cross functional resources are assigned and held accountable for tasks and outcomes.
Ensures that products are launched on time and meet established goals and objectives per project contract that support the financial and competitive goals of the organization.
Manages projects within portfolio and makes commitments to meet specific business goals and objectives.
Responsibility for managing and tracking project budget with components that include human resources, prototypes, suppliers, and general expenses to meet established return on investments per project.
Provides the communication link between the project team and the CSH PRC.
Ensures regular communication with key stakeholders and cross-functional leaders to maintain alignment with team decisions.
Ensures team deliverables are in compliance with the Product Development Process and other requirements, and meet the PRC's expectations.
Coaches team members to ensure process adherence and effective project management, utilizing best practice project management skills, as well as framing and resolving issues through the Product Development Process and other best practices.
Coaches team members to ensure effective team dynamics and mutual accountability.
Guides and assists the program management group in continuous improvement initiatives.
Directs initiatives to identify, prioritize, define, and implement improvements to the process to achieve best-in-class performance.
Provides feedback to functional department heads as key stakeholders during program execution, annual operation plan, and strategic planning processes.
Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with 5+ years of managerial experience

Experience: Minimum 7 years related experience, including broad multi-functional business experience along with at least 2+ years project and people management experience.
Demonstrated track record of leading within complex organizations requiring strong influence management skills.
Experience working in product development / commercialization, including clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of cross-functional project teams and functional management
Project management skills; knowledge of process and project planning best practices
