Transparency by Amazon represents an opportunity to raise retail industry standards around authenticity, product transparency, and supply chain tracking. Transparency is a strategic new Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product launched by Amazon for the global consumer goods industry. We are focused on building a global service which allows brands and consumers to trace the origin of items throughout the supply chain ensuring only authentic items enter the supply chain. The Transparency service is focused on preventing the receipt and sale of counterfeit goods both online and offline. Our customers include individual consumer brands who sell both on and off of Amazon direct and through a network of third-party sellers.

The Role:

The Transparency team is looking for a Program Manager to help grow the program through bringing in new brands at scale and accelerating growth of existing Transparency accounts. This person will work closely with Transparency Marketing, Sales, and Account Management teams to identify new growth initiatives, use data to measure the effectiveness of growth initiatives, develop lead generation and qualification strategies, and scale approaches that prove effective. The Program Manager will know how to think strategically with an ability to identify root causes of business issues through deep-dive analysis, develop and test hypotheses, make data-driven decisions, and have a strong bias for action to take calculated risks in the absence of data. This person will need to forge strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholder teams.

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years experience in Program Management and/or Business Development roles

  • Experience working with Marketing and Sales teams and functions

  • Proficient using Microsoft Office and Salesforce

  • Proven written and oral communication skills

  • MBA or equivalent Master's degree

  • Experience in e-commerce start-up environment

  • Proven ability to work independently to develop and execute strategies with minimal supervision

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate in an ambiguous environment and think outside the box

  • Ability to influence senior internal and external executives and stakeholders

  • Demonstrated critical thinker, data-driven, and results-oriented

Characteristics of responsible projects/programs: Complexity: Medium to Large Risk: Medium to Large Duration: Short term: 6 - 12 months Value: Typically > $100k USD Geography: National/Regional/Global Oversees a Team ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leads medium to large, complex cross-functional projects and programs end-to-end using a formal PMO process. Facilitates the development of a charter and integrated timeline. Ensures that all functions remain on schedule and that issues get escalated and resolved and that the program is completed successfully. Facilitates meetings to review active and pending projects (project pipeline). Collaborates with core team to develop solutions and lead project team(s) through implementation and completion. Manages internal and external relationships in support of program(s); may contract and manage vendors. May provide consultation on complex medium to large scale projects that integrate into an organized program. Creates, maintains & distributes routine PMO reports, including status reports and updated Gantt charts. May manage/oversee a team who are responsible for the delivery of a portfolio of projects and programs. Serves as the primary client contact and escalation point for any staffing, bandwidth or delivery issues. Other duties may be assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.
