Summary of the Position

MAG Aerospace is seeking a Sr. Program Finance/Cost Control Analyst to support high visibility defense contracts with the DoD. This position can be performed from either the Huntsville, AL or Fairfax, VA locations and is contingent upon contract award. This position will report to the Director of Business Management and will partner with the Aviation Support Division Program Management team to establish strategy; prioritize requirements and achieve financial goals while ensuring the integrity of business processes.

The Sr Program Finance/Cost Control Analyst's responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up cost control systems, preparing in-depth budgets for medium to large sized programs, and performing analyses to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines

  • Preparing program plans to ensure program requirements and statement of work are captured and scheduled

  • Incorporating contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines

  • Performing financial analyses and preparing variance explanations, estimates to complete (EACs), and monthly corporate and customer reports related to cost/schedule performance, staffing, and Revenue forecasts

  • Ensuring adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government

  • Interfacing with customer and working under limited supervision

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related discipline; or 8 years with a related Master's degree

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Primarily Excel & PowerPoint

  • Understanding of financial management concepts such as funding, revenue, cost, profit, billed AR, unbilled AR, subcontracts, purchase orders, etc.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and ingenuity with the ability to effectively achieve organizational established goals and objectives

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer service and collaborative team environment

  • Prior experience supporting government contracts

  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, or similar enterprise financial systems

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

This position is located in Huntsville, AL. This Financial/Program Cost Control Analyst will interface with leadership, program managers, functional management, control account managers (CAMs) and business managers to provide financial support and analysis to meet program requirements. Roles and responsibilities may include and are not limited to the following: * Set up cost control system, monitors and controls costs and schedules on contracts requiring validated cost schedule control system. * Financial reporting to include creating of AOP and IF financial forecasts, cash flow and material forecasts, and invoiced/unbilled analysis. * Perform analyses and prepare reports in order to ensure that contracts are within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters and government cost control guidelines. * Prepare budgets for contract work and perform or assist in financial analyses such as funding profiles, sales outlook, and variance analysis * Responsible for ensuring adequate funding availability by maintaining accurate records of expenditures, directing preparation of expenditure projections, and submitting timely requests for additional funding to the government. * Incorporate contractual changes into control systems by staying aware of outstanding work against each contract in order to maintain realistic contract cost and schedule baselines. * Perform program financial analyses and provides both external and internal reporting(s). * Interface with program and functional management to provide financial support and analysis to meet program requirements. * Participate in knowledge transfer and best practices sharing with peers. * Create and provide the following to program management teams: * Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) * Program base-linings * Risk and opportunities assessment * Visibility reports * Performance measurement (Earned Value Management-EVM)Variance analyses * Estimates To Complete (ETC) and Estimates At Completion (EAC). * Assists in preparing for internal and external audits * Establishing a budget/EAC, analyzing capital expenditures and preparing reports for programs * Prepare work authorizations * Be fully versed in the operation of all EVMS processes/procedures and generate baseline and contract performance report (CPR) data for a complex program. * Prepares and updates ETC, Baselines, Task Description and Basis of Estimate (TD/BOE), and establishes Performance Measurement reporting/customer reporting requirements * Establish and analyze resource (manpower) plans for multiple projects and cost centers within an IPT * Recognize and identify potential issues (e.g., color of money, employee related issues, GFE vs. Capital, procurement issues) and can locate source information * Creates "what-if" scenarios and supports work-around plans * Evaluates assigned work packages for inconsistencies and trends The ideal candidate will be a proven team leader with strong communication skills.
