Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Senior Program Coordinator. Reporting to the Assistant Dean, this position provides support for high-profile events associated with the RBS UG New Brunswick program.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
Coordination of events and programs vital to the success of RBS and more importantly the success of our students. For example: commencement, scholarship administration and Beta Gamma. Sigma , etc
Prioritizes work, resolves routine conflicts and issues, prepares, and implements administrative guidelines and procedures, and provides direction and facilitation
Creates informational materials
Provides general unit supporting research, analysis, and proposal data
Prepares, processes, and controls records, statistics, reports, and documents
Performs some fiscal support functions for these events
Oversees special projects including serving as the Beta Gamma Sigma chapter advisor and assists with new transfer evaluations, onboarding, and initiatives
Manages all scholarships, awards, and honors for the RBS-NB UG program
Works under general supervision of the Assistant Dean, within established work parameters, with few direct instructions
Supports the office and the team as needed with other events, activities, and responsibilities
Position Status Full Time Hours Per Week Daily Work Shift Work Arrangement
Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, work organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping, and/or report writing principles and practices.
Also requires a minimum of two years relevant experience in an administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy in the Microsoft Suite (EXCEL, PowerPoint, Outlook and WORD)
Certifications/Licenses Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree and experience with event planning.
Additionally, experience in working with various student populations and an academic setting.
