Job Summary

Senior Production Technician - Glass Room Operations:

A technical position that involves coordinating activities of workers engaged in glass fiberizing operations, operating a variety of complex machines used in Chaff fabrication. Knowledge needed in industrial machinery maintenance, machinery mechanics, electrical systems, interpreting job orders, planning flow of materials, interfacing with others, inspecting products to verify conformance, coordinating workers, maintaining production records. Responsibilities include overseeing the production area, perform equipment set-ups, and assist/correct in trouble shooting problems.

  • Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute production plan; evaluate production operation; troubleshoot equipment and processing problems; monitor equipment operation; provide recommendations for process improvements.

  • Responsible to report all issues to Production Supervisor.

  • Setup and operate equipment in support of department's objectives.

  • Ensures that safety procedures are followed; reports potentially unsafe conditions: uses equipment and materials properly.

  • Performs other duties as may be assigned.

  • Maintains the highest ethical standards.

  • Understands and lives by Transdigm's ethics and business conduct policies.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Shift Leader or relevant managerial role

  • General troubleshooting and repair of industrial equipment.

  • Have at least four years of proven work experience in an industrial setting.

  • Use of Multi-meter / other instruments for safety and basic troubleshooting.

  • Understands and practices Lockout/Tag-out.

  • Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic or other system defects and make necessary repairs within capabilities.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common documents, procedures, and instructions.

  • Must be dependable and responsible.

  • Must be able to work calmly and reasonably under pressure.

  • Forklift certification preferred or ability to successfully obtain license.

  • Exposed to noise, dust and hot conditions.

  • Lifting materials up to 25 pounds.

  • Push / Pull up to 700 pounds racks.

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

  • To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

  • AA degree or equivalent leadership experience

  • Good communication skills and high degree of integrity.

  • Able to interface and work productively with operators, peers and upper management.

  • Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel Spreadsheets, Data Analysis, formatting of usable tables and other evaluation documents and Outlook programs.

Work Hours

3-12 hour days: Friday, Saturday and Sunday

40 hours week

Overtime as needed
