Job Description:

The Sr Production Supervisor will supervise, direct and participate in departmental work activities to produce the desired quality of finished product at the most favorable cost, meeting both quality and safety goals.

Responsibilities include learning all plant processes including maintenance, regulatory compliance including quality and safety programs, human resources activities, and managerial and administrative functions.


Required Experience, Education and

Knowledge:
  • Bachelor's degree preferably in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in food/dairy manufacturing environment, with progressive leadership responsibilities.

  • Must possess strong leadership skills, problem solving skills, and decision-making skills.

  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills at various levels of the company.

  • Proficient computer skills, including usage of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Effective communication skills for working cross-functionally in a fast-paced work environment.

Preferred Experience and

Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of FDA and OSHA regulations, GMPs, Sanitation, and HACCP.

  • Sanitation experience desirable.

  • 5+ years of manufacturing work experience.

  • Supervisory experience in a high-volume food/manufacturing environment.

  • Experience and career history with "Fortune 500" type companies strongly desired.

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; climb up and down stairs and ladders; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The temperature of the work environment can fluctuate due to occasional temperatures from cold/cool to warm/hot. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud and will require ear plugs. While working in the manufacturing areas, the incumbent is required to wear personal protective equipment.

Hours: 2nd Shift, 1pm 10pm. This role may require off shift hours, weekends and holidays as required.

Our Spencer, WI facility is one of the largest in Land O'Lakes, Inc. We are hiring 3rd shift Production Operators to join our Spencer, WI team! This role is at a Dairy Foods manufacturing facility for Land O'Lakes, creating dairy products that stand for real, simple goodness. The Production Operator is the front-line employee who performs the manufacturing processes that add value and quality to the inputs and create the final high-quality final products. There are a variety of sub-classifications within the Operator job family that could range in specific duties from receiving and handling the raw materials, adding value through a variety of proprietary processes, to packaging the final product. In all stages of production safety, attention to detail, a quality and sanitation focus, and efficiency are key to the success of the operation. Location Spencer, WI Shifts 3rd Shift Times: 9:00 PM - 5:00 AM (extra $0.75/hr) First 90 days, training may include all 3 shifts. 1st Shift Times: 5:00 AM -1:00 PM, 2nd Shift Times: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM Wage Rate $19.35/hr + shift premiums for a 90- day probationary period. $0.50 increase after successful completion of probationary period. Due to a large variety of job duties (both routine and non-routine), certain duties also may involve, a variety of physical activities including bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing, working in enclosed areas, climbing stairs or ladders, and operating heavy machinery. The noise level in the work environment can vary but noise is usually low to moderate. At times, you may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety gloves, hearing protection, a respirator or dust mask, protective footwear and protective clothing or uniforms.
