Sr Production Manager

Lead a team at the South Bend site that applies its expertise and knowledge in finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve production control output and continuous improvements working with Operations, Engineering, Operations AME and Sourcing. You will lead the strategic direction and initiatives that ensures product is coordinated, monitored and completes the production cycle according to schedules.

Be the strategic leader for the Carbon Manufacturing department by establishing team direction, schedules, and key objectives

Balance business needs, aggressive timelines, site goals in Production Control

Develop and coordinate a team that recognizes production planning needs and improvements in cycle time
30 Lead change 15 Oversee production schedules 15 Project management 25 Talent management 15 Cost improvement analysis

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelors Degree

WE VALUE

  • Master's degree a plus

  • Six Sigma Greenbelt preferred

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Significant experience in production planning.

  • Familiar with standard concepts of field

  • Degree of creativity and latitude.

  • Able to make decisions using data provided.

  • Proficient computer skills.

Location: South Bend, IN Production Manager As a senior member of the Plant Management team the Production Manager will lead the Production and Maintenance activities, accountable for the safe, efficient, and cost effective operation of all operating units producing adhesive and sealant chemicals at the South Bend facility to ensure consistent product quality and in-full on-time delivery to customers. Key Responsibilities: * Develop an injury and incident-free EHS culture. Responsible for ensuring that all safety and environmental requirements are complied with at all times. Support all EHS improvement activities. * Lead a staff of 5 direct and 90 indirect reports while building a great place to work where all employees are engaged * Responsible for meeting planned production schedules in support of higher service levels to customers * Responsible for the effective cost management and use of resources to support production demands delivered at the lowest cost. * Ensure the accurate reporting of production data into ERP; ensure inventory accuracy and proper labeling of all production. * Drive continuous improvement efforts and advance operational excellence. * Provide technical and managerial expertise to solve processing and quality problems, make recommendations, and oversee implementation of improvements. * Establish, communicate and sustain high standards for facility housekeeping / order; Lead the 5S effort * Assist the R&D and Commercial groups in the evaluation and costing of new product introductions * Work with Technical team to upgrade training curriculum and processes for orientation, refresher, and cross-training * Collaborate with all support functions, including EH&S, Quality, Shipping, HR, Engineering, R&D to ensure customer and business needs are always met * Establish and implement performance management development plans for self as well as direct and indirect reports Employees are eligible for full benefits, including medical, dental, insurance, 401k contribution, paid time off and paid Holidays.
