The Sr. Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for the go-to-market of Proofpoint Essentials, our small and medium business solution. You will be the glue that binds our product strategy to the tactics we need to drive success in sales and marketing. You'll be the expert on small and medium business buyers and competitors in this market segment. You'll use that expertise to develop product positioning, messaging and content that differentiates Proofpoint Essentials in the market. You'll partner closely with sales, product management and marketing to build the go-to-market plan and execute that plan to achieve results. The ideal candidate is a driven self-starter, a diplomatic collaborator, a strategic-thinker who enjoys rolling up his/her sleeves, and exercises sound judgement on when to push back and when to dive in.
Be the expert on small and medium business buyers who they are, how they buy, and their buying criteria
Understand the competitive landscape be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned
Create compelling content (presentations, web content, webinars, etc.) that highlights differentiated value to reach the target buyers
Understand and support the Essentials sales channels; create and deliver effective enablement content that helps sellers identify opportunities and communicate our unique value
In partnership with sales and product management, define go-to-market priorities that drive revenue growth
Develop marketing plans in conjunction with corporate marketing that align to defined go-to-market priorities
Act as the primary thought leader for the products you support, including speaking engagements and written works
Plan the launches of new releases, and manage cross-functional implementation of the plan
Build strong working relationships across product management, corporate marketing and sales to achieve business goals

Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and projects
Demonstrated ability to develop strong productive relationships with sales and product management
Proven experience marketing to small and medium businesses and with products sold mainly through channel partners and managed service providers
Must be a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of large, senior groups, and a solid writer.
Excellent people and management skills to interact with peers, management, cross-functional teams and third parties
Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
5+ years of product marketing experience to small and medium businesses.
2+ years of experience with products sold primarily through channel partners and managed service providers
BS/BA required, preferably in business or technical concentration
