The Role

The Sr. Product Marketing Manager will be responsible for the go-to-market of Proofpoint Essentials, our small and medium business solution. You will be the glue that binds our product strategy to the tactics we need to drive success in sales and marketing. You'll be the expert on small and medium business buyers and competitors in this market segment. You'll use that expertise to develop product positioning, messaging and content that differentiates Proofpoint Essentials in the market. You'll partner closely with sales, product management and marketing to build the go-to-market plan and execute that plan to achieve results. The ideal candidate is a driven self-starter, a diplomatic collaborator, a strategic-thinker who enjoys rolling up his/her sleeves, and exercises sound judgement on when to push back and when to dive in.

Your day-to-day

  • Be the expert on small and medium business buyers who they are, how they buy, and their buying criteria

  • Understand the competitive landscape be an expert on our competition and how they are positioned

  • Create compelling content (presentations, web content, webinars, etc.) that highlights differentiated value to reach the target buyers

  • Understand and support the Essentials sales channels; create and deliver effective enablement content that helps sellers identify opportunities and communicate our unique value

  • In partnership with sales and product management, define go-to-market priorities that drive revenue growth

  • Develop marketing plans in conjunction with corporate marketing that align to defined go-to-market priorities

  • Act as the primary thought leader for the products you support, including speaking engagements and written works

  • Plan the launches of new releases, and manage cross-functional implementation of the plan

  • Build strong working relationships across product management, corporate marketing and sales to achieve business goals

What you bring to the team

  • Demonstrated ability consistently meeting commitments with high-quality deliverables

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities and projects

  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong productive relationships with sales and product management

  • Proven experience marketing to small and medium businesses and with products sold mainly through channel partners and managed service providers

  • Must be a strong public speaker, comfortable in front of large, senior groups, and a solid writer.

  • Excellent people and management skills to interact with peers, management, cross-functional teams and third parties

  • Team player with a positive, can-do attitude

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience to small and medium businesses.

  • 2+ years of experience with products sold primarily through channel partners and managed service providers

  • BS/BA required, preferably in business or technical concentration

A Forcepoint Senior Product Marketing Manager creates and articulates the messaging, positioning and uniqueness of individual Forcepoint products. He or she will provide support for demand generation campaigns executed by the Revenue Marketing team; develop and deliver sales and partner training; coordinate product launch/release; produce sales tools, collateral and competitive profiles; and evangelize our products internally and externally to achieve business success and profitable growth. The Senior Product Marketing Manager will work closely with the related Solution Product Marketing Director as well as product management, sales, sales engineering, CTO, growth marketing, and corporate marketing. This role will support one or more products within the company's portfolio that includes Secure Web Gateway, Email Security, Cloud Access Security Broker, Next Generation Firewall, and Data Loss Prevention. Responsibilities include: * Serve as the subject matter expert for specific Forcepoint products and markets, customers, competition, messaging and positioning for sales, sales engineering, product management and growth marketing * Develop product positioning, value propositions, claims and high-impact and differentiated stories that differentiates your products in the market; translate technical capabilities into benefits for buyers and users * Market intelligence – be the expert on your buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be the expert on your competition and how to beat them * Demand generation – support marketing programs that drive demand for your products * Develop high-impact sales tools such as product datasheets, web content, blog entries, eBooks, videos, white papers, presentations, case studies, business cases, TCO/ROI analysis, competitive profiles and sales playbooks * Product launch – plan the launch of new products and releases and manage the cross-functional implementation of the plan * Evangelize the company's vision, architecture and overall product strategy both internally and externally * Perform other duties and projects as assigned 
The candidate should have experience in the following: * Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field such as Computer Science; MBA is a plus * Five or more years' experience in Product Marketing or heavily-outbound product management of enterprise software or technology offerings * Be technical – experience with technical products, preferably the cybersecurity market * Demonstrable content creation skills * Very strong written and presentation communication skills * Proven a track record of working independently * Must also enjoy collaborating with a team and be able to both lead and participate in projects * Willing to travel up to 20% Forcepoint Austin TX
