Software Product Manager

NYC, NY

6+ months Potential to go Full Time

Primary Responsibility:

Software Product Manager will manage the new development of web apps within our internal engineering teams. This role is critical in creating visibility into product status and will serve as the point of contact for our engineering team and business stakeholders.

Key job functions for this role is to incorporate needs of the customers when working with engineering team, generation and prioritization of user stories, and to ensure that there is always a steady flow within the engineering team queue. This is a senior level role where technical product ownership is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of 7+ years product or technical experience within an engineering team; defining, scoping, and delivering web related software

Previously held product and/or technology role (preferably with experience in both)

BS/MS in Computer Science, engineering, or related field

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Has worked with cross-functional teams, and other internal and external stakeholders to build schedules, coordinate deployment and communicate status on product delivery and operations.

Expert knowledge of consumer web technologies and engagement tools

Has a solid understanding and knowledge of SEO best practices and practical experience with high traffic web sites

Lead product vision and data analytic efforts; experience in defining analytical strategy and developing KPI's for web properties

Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Strong interpersonal, leadership and presentation skills for interacting with engineering team members and clients

Experienced in interpreting data from analytic tools

Is experienced in A/B Testing and methodologies

Is experienced in creating product roadmap and backlogs

Experience using agile methodologies within an engineering team

Support UX-UI development teams by gathering and drafting product requirements from stakeholders, prioritizing features, authoring user stories and defining acceptance criteria

Experience working alongside the QA team to ensure proper test scripts are written and features are being tested thoroughly prior to production release.

Has a strong understanding of engineering culture and willing to take technical product ownership

Deep understanding of web technologies and eco-system

Scrum master / Product Owner certification preferred

Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies * Ability to analyze complex issues, legal and financial exposures and work with underwriters to develop solutions. * Thorough understanding of underwriting and coverage issues within the Public D&O marketplace. * Ability to provide clear verbal and written communications. * Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and collaborative communication style. * Work well independently while maintaining team rapport and proactive and communication with management and others. . Job Summary Lead and manage all aspects of the Public Company Directors & Officers (D&O) product line within Travelers Bond & Specialty Insurance.
