The Sr. Product Manager of Data Strategy

  • Financial Services Vertical will drive the strategy for Experian Marketing Services' consumer data assets, products, and propositions across the digital and offline marketing ecosystem within the financial services vertical market. We seek a candidate eager to join a start-up atmosphere - supporting solutions that span adoption cycles from deep adoption in a change use case to solutions at the tipping point of market adoption to new solutions yet to be imagined. Strong product management expertise in critical in the financial services vertical is critical.

Experian Marketing Services goes to market with ConsumerView as its primary data product offering. The candidate will be responsible for defining and executing data product strategy, understanding market needs, creating customer-centric requirements and roadmaps, maintaining competitive analysis, influencing product development in an Agile framework.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assess market needs related to consumer data. Identify significant long-term opportunities based on research, analysis and a strategic view of the direction of the market and business goals. Define appropriate product strategies for Experian's data assets, products, and propositions.

  • Size the markets for your products and report regularly on the competitive landscape. Determine market potential and revenue opportunities that exist.

  • Regular market-facing approach to capturing voice of customer, partners, and sales teams, and create competitive differentiation and compelling positioning in market.

  • Working with product owners, drive specific innovation projects, including partnering with relevant development teams, and drive regular creation of MVPs that solve market problems and be able to identify critical client needs that must be met by the product in order to launch.

  • Work cross-functionally across other internal Experian business units and product management teams to ensure products are positioned in alignment with other Experian capabilities and platforms.

  • Define and manage comprehensive go-to-market strategy and plan including positioning, launch strategy, PR, sales and partner materials.

  • Own business metrics for customer engagement & satisfaction, product usage, revenue, and forecasts for new and existing products.

  • Be an expert with respect to the industry, competition and emerging players.

  • Understand all relevant regulatory and self-regulatory statutes and norms for the industry and be able to apply them to products within the financial services vertical.

  • Working with product owners, drive the delivery of product roadmaps for new products and major product enhancements, as well as manage the overall product lifecycle.

  • Create regular thought leadership pieces, such as white papers, webinars, research reports, and other relevant materials to reinforce Experian's place in the market

  • Work with other Experian business units to create the best and broadest possible relationships with the data, platform and services marketing industry.

  • Engage in various trade association working groups within the data driven marketing ecosystem (ie: IAB, ANA, etc) to represent Experian

  • Engage with key analysts that cover the space where Experian Marketing Services operates (ie: Gartner, Forrester, etc) to promote capabilities, gain industry insight, and drive into the product portfolio.

  • Manage training of internal Experian stakeholders in the value that products deliver in market

  • Ensure enablement of sales teams by creating market-facing product collateral and other external materials

  • Cultivate external relationships with clients, third parties and consumers to drive product adoption.

Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications

  • 5 years of demonstrated product management leadership, working both internally to drive delivery on roadmap goals, and externally to evaluate and drive partnerships that advance product strategy.

  • 5 years of strong experience within the data-driven, addressable marketing space (digital and offline required) and the role that data plays within it.

  • Demonstrated expertise in the financial services vertical.

  • Experience working within Agile Product Frameworks

  • Excellent client-facing presentation skills required

  • A metrics-driven approach to product management

  • High sense of urgency and ability to work well in and navigate a matrixed environment
