WHAT YOU'LL DO AT GENMARK!

The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for creating strategic and tactical marketing plans to drive continued growth in existing and new markets.

Critical factors to success include:

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Perform market research and gather customer feedback in order to define, prioritize and develop corresponding justifications for market requirements of new products

  • Support the product development organization by representing the voice of the customer throughout the entire life cycle of the product

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with KOLs, corporate partners, VIP customers and professional societies that drive test adoption and product endorsements

  • Responsible for product lifecycle management for all existing product lines assigned; including tracking success and managing resolution of issues

  • Lead the organization of and support the definition of alpha and beta studies associated with developmental stage products

  • Develop and implement product launch plans including sales training, positioning, competition, sales tools, pricing, etc.

  • Serve as the company expert with respect to our competition for the assigned product areas and ensure real-time communication of updates to the field, senior management and customer support organizations

  • Develop and recommend pricing strategies for each product which meet the revenue and profitability goals of the company

  • Participate in the company strategic planning and annual planning/budgeting process

  • Participate in shaping the development of the marketing department and manage direct reports as assigned

  • Support the sales organization and customers by providing information about products, technology, or other issues requiring Marketing input or assistance

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree Medical Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or related Life Science field

  • MBA or advanced technical degree (MS, PhD) preferred

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in commercial roles within clinical diagnostics (eight years preferred)

  • International experience is preferred

  • Direct selling experience preferred

  • Experience managing people preferred

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in marketing molecular diagnostics products preferred

  • Solid quantitative analytical skills as they relate to conducting market analysis and market research, establishing product strategies, working with product development teams, forecasting and pricing

  • Demonstrated success in defining and launching new products

  • Proven experience with developing sales support materials and tools for product commercialization

  • Effective analytical problem solving and decision-making skills

  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, scientific journals, and package inserts

  • Experience working in an FDA regulated environment is preferable

  • Advanced computer skills working with Excel and PowerPoint, proficient in entire MS Office Suite

The Senior Service Product Manager is a high-output strategic marketing role, responsible for working with service and product divisions to create and manage market/customer-focused service product portfolios, innovation, and pricing strategies to drive preference and demand in support of Thermo Fisher Scientific services. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Services Product Management, this position is responsible for developing and executing an innovative services portfolio for scientific instrumentation. This position is ideal for a candidate with both a strong marketing and product management background who has successfully developed and executed targeted products/services for business-to-business technology markets and customers with complex buying cycles. This position can be based anywhere in the U.S. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Drive the ideation, development, launch and scaling of innovative new service offerings through the service development innovation process (Stage Gate); working closely with the company's service organization and executives to ensure appropriate alignment of marketing, service sales and delivery efforts * Collaborate with the Product Business Unit Leaders, Sales VPs, IES global Service team and Field Service Directors and Managers, to drive double digit services revenue growth and maximize installed base service revenue potential, while elevating customer satisfaction * Define service product roadmaps that ensure service is a competitive advantage in the overall Company value proposition by transforming services from "point" offerings to integrated solutions and workflows; and by moving to outcome-based services * Develop and execute service product management plans for new and existing portfolios including voice of customer, market opportunity identification, service product definition, pricing, positioning and value propositions * Drive point of sale attach rates for warranty extensions and uplifts * Develop framework for analyzing customer requirements, industry trends, market segmentation, competitive landscape in order to prepare business case for investment in new service initiatives * Contribute to a competitive intelligence system that tracks key competitors and industry players to identify their strengths, weaknesses, strategies, plans and performance How will you get there? Education: * University degree in a relevant technical, pharmaceutical, or marketing field, MBA preferred Experience: * At least 6 years of marketing/product management experience (product, service or project management) in B2B technology marketing role, preferably with a company providing deeply technical solutions * Demonstrated ability to develop global service products and manage global programs that serve targeted markets in North America, Europe and Asia * Proven ability to translate divisional business and Field Service strategy into innovative services and plans that deliver quantitative results and business value * Demonstrated ability to work cross functionally and build strong alliances at all levels, including close work with technical, sales, product marketing, and executive positions * Strong leadership skills characterized by the ability to inspire, communicate effectively, and drive the organization towards common goals with high performing management teams. * Energy level and drive that motivates those around him/her to persevere through tough situations and ultimately meet agreed-upon goals * Demonstrated leadership without authority in a dynamic environment with areas of ambiguity * Ability to work remotely to effectively drive complex projects to completion * Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25% or more as required Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is the world leader in serving science, with annual revenue exceeding $25 billion.
