Sr. Product Engineer
The Senior Product Engineer for Brooks Life Sciences (BLS) will lead product engineering and continuous improvement efforts for BioStore III Cryo -190C System and its variants, the robotics based automated sample storage and retrieval systems for gene and cell therapy, blood processing & analysis, drug discovery, and medical research markets. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the Senior Product Engineer will be the key, focal person in the engineering group for all technical issues in manufacturing and the field, providing project management and technical leadership for enhancements and extensions of current products. As the primary technical interface to OEM customers, the Sr Product Engineer must be highly organized with strength in mechanical, electrical or systems engineering, and will use this strength to help drive issue resolution, collaborating across the engineering team.

Key Focus Areas
Track, troubleshoot, identify the root cause, resolve, and generate corrective actions for issues that have been escalated to engineering and will lead and implement fixes, modifications, and design enhancements.
Perform routine updates and corrections to engineering documentations (drawings, BOM, Specs, FMEAs, etc.), ensuring meticulous, detailed, and thorough documentations
Support the design and testing of new products
Support the transfer of new products from engineering to manufacturing.
Occasional travel (5-10%) to customers' location for onsite support
BS in ME, robotics/automation or a related field.
Project management and strong organizational skills.
5+ years' experience with capital/process equipment products with mechanisms and robotics automation preferred.
Experience in designing mechanisms and knowledge of machining and fabrication processes for metals and the commonly used plastics is a plus.
Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD program.
Demonstrated capability to perform basic engineering analysis and familiarity with commonly used analysis tools (e.g. FEM).
Ability to read and understand schematics and drawings and perform basic troubleshooting.
Experience with refrigerated systems a plus.
Must have a strong work ethic and good written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter must be able to work independently with minimum supervision or direction.
