The Bridge Design team at Instructure--a small, close-knit group of problem solvers--is looking for a Sr. Product Designer to join our ranks. What you'll be doing:

  • Conducting user research in the form of interviews, card sorts, surveys, etc.

  • Documenting research findings and sharing them with your teams.

  • Creating prototypes that run the fidelity gamut: from fat marker sketches to polished screens.

  • Conducting usability tests and making recommendations based on results.

  • Presenting your ideas, prototypes, and research findings on a regular basis.

What you'll need to know:

  • User research methods as well as processes for interpreting findings.

  • Sketch, Figma, or similar tool.

  • Human-centered design principles, inside and out.

  • How to move projects through the design process independently.

  • How to work well with others as a collaborator, user advocate, and design evangelist

VIEW JOBS 3/30/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-06-28T00:00 Sr. Studio Designer, MRM Location / Salt Lake City Date / February 3, 2020 Core Duties/Responsibilities JOB DESCRIPTION: MRM's senior studio designer skillset requirements will include preparing final, graphics files for digital, web, interactive, and print production. Producing clean, pixel-perfect digital assets for web development, and various media deployment and automation platforms. MRM's Studio requires the designer to have a good understanding of commercial print processes and industry-standard print file preparation and generation. Sr. studio designer must be able to observe and police color management policies and client brand identity requirements. Sr. studio designers' partner with creative and account teams to interpret the vision of a creative concept through use of good design skills and solid production work into required assets. This position functions under the production services department and reports to the studio director. RESPONSIBILITIES: Creative * Works with creative teams to interpret creative concepts and direction to produce print and digital layouts with an emphasis on setting up files for automated asset generation and deployment. * Adds value to the creative process through concepting within mechanical requirements, while safeguarding established standards of the client brand and style guide. Technical Responsibilities * Demonstrates solid understanding of print-based production techniques through use of optimized design applications. * Demonstrates strength in setting up files for both print and digital work conforming to industry-standard requirements. * Must know how to work with color channels in both print and digital/interactive application workspaces. * Must have strong workflow and organizational skills and understands the benefit of established agency protocols. * Must be progressive in learning other relevant support technologies. * Keeps up to date on technology affecting print and digital production techniques. Job Management * Works effectively with the team to meet technical requirements and deadlines as specified by project managers. * Reviews schedule and workload daily with studio director and maintains communication with project and print production managers to ensure that expectations for quality and timeliness of the work are met. * Planning-evaluates work and specifications with the project manager/print production manager before beginning. * Follows and promotes quality assurance processes and agency policies with team members to reduce risk and liabilities. * Communicates delays, problems, etc. directly to the project manager, studio management, or other team members that are affected Time Management * Responsible for daily posting of time and monitoring of time during production. * Follows, and promotes time monitoring and financial accountability via company policies within the account team structure. * Provides time estimates for projects and works with project managers and client teams to establish reasonable timeline and cost expectations. Work Ethic * Exhibits good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with agency team members and occasionally with clients. * Works in positive and supportive manner as a team member, team leader, and studio services quality ambassador. * Self-motivated and willing to work extra hours and/or inconvenient times as occasionally required. * Flexible and willing to perform related job functions beside core responsibilities. Job Requirements: Must exhibit keen attention to detail, have strong organizational skills, and all print and digital production skills relating to the job. Can competently handle multiple priorities. Must have 5+ years working in the advertising, graphic design, or related industries.
