This position supports Mattel's initiative to produce high quality short form live action content, contributing to the company's content asset library and supporting increased global toy sales as well as an uptick in content revenue. This further supports Mattel's Digital First & Content First long term plans for the future, increasing it's competitiveness in the Toy & Entertainment industry. As short form content needs keep growing exponentially, Mattel must optimize effectiveness (Brands relations) and efficiencies (internal productions).

Position objective: Manage creation of all live action short form content, hiring 3rd party vendors, overseeing internal live action productions, including creations of budgets and schedules.

  • Manage all productions and deliverable timelines

  • Responsible for supervising, evaluating, and monitoring the work quality and performance of all assigned productions in terms of cost efficiency, compliance and productivity

  • Plan and allocate resources on a project by project basis

  • Work closely with producers to ensure their projects are done on time and within budget

  • Manage producers and guide them to manage their production crews and take accountability for their individual projects

  • Overseeing, organizing, implementing and improving quality and efficiency of current production processes

  • Collaborate with Production Finance to manage accounting of all projects, including setting and tracking budgets. Review budgets with Finance to ensure cost efficiency. Devising a plan for new production software.

  • Liaise with cross functional teams and outside vendors on all aspects of production

  • Where possible, attend all production meetings to ensure efficiency in the content process from conception through completion

  • If needed, negotiate with and manage 3rd party vendors

Experience, Education & Skills


  • Extensive knowledge/experience of media production required.

  • BA preferred but not required.

  • 5+ years' experience production experience required.

  • Must be extremely organized, a fast learner, professional, efficient, detailed oriented, self-sufficient, a team player, passionate about entertainment, and able to thrive and multi-task in a fast-paced, stressful environment.

  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Power Point required.

  • Must be confident and outgoing.

  • Ability to deal with and resolve conflict with capacity for suggesting well-reasoned solutions is essential.

  • Should enjoy working in a creative, dynamic and fast paced environment

What we're looking for a Producer responsible for producing content for assigned shows and newscast. Contribute to special features and stories. Participate in coordinating coverage of major stories, breaking news and specials. Major responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Produces assigned newscasts and news inserts making decisions on story lineup, video/audio elements, graphics and timing to construct show * Writes news stories for an assigned newscasts; ensuring content is factually correct and written in a clear and concise conversational style * Ability to produce live or recorded newscasts * Verifies stories are written to the pictures being edited and/or vice versa * Follows through on all assignments meeting required deadlines according to the Executive Producer's instructions * Works with associate producers to create the newscast product * Produces special programming as needed * Works in computerized newsroom environment * Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications: * Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. * Strong broadcast news writing ability * Ability to anticipate situations and meet strict deadlines * Interpersonal skills and excellent collaboration skills * Ability to work effectively within a team environment and interact with all personnel within the organization * Knowledge of current events and industry trends * Attention to detail * Familiarity with the local market * Knowledge of social media platforms * Must be able to work rapidly and accurately * Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software and basic non-linear editing systems a plus * Basic editing skills * Must be able and willing to work evenings and weekends Education & Experience: High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field or comparable television work experience preferred; 3+ Television news experience.
