Job Summary
Manage the procurement of materials and services for PSEGLI through accurate procurement project management and planning; innovative sourcing; and contract development, negotiation and administration.
In-office expectations - at least 8x a month
Job Responsibilities
The Procurement Analyst is responsible for procuring services and/or materials consistent with the needs of PSEG Procurement Operations Group. The Procurement Analyst is responsible for accurate procurement planning, innovative sourcing, contract development and contract administration while maintaining compliance with enterprise procurement policies and procedures.
This position is an individual contributor role that initiates and coordinates procurement activities, which include preparation of bid packages, conducting pre-bid meetings, site visits, evaluating bids, negotiating terms & conditions, issue contracts, amendments, purchase orders and change orders as required.The Procurement Analyst independently negotiates and settles supplier claims and back-charges with guidance provided as needed. Additional responsibilities include fostering and implementing process improvement initiatives, client relationship management, communicating contractual commitments, and representing PSEG in the external marketplace.
The Procurement Analyst must have general knowledge of the sourcing process, project management and contract law.
Job Specific Qualifications
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum five (5) years' experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Contract Management or other business related field, preferably within the utility industry.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel.
Ability to successfully analyze and presents data to multiple levels of the organization.
Demonstrated experience in supporting cross-functional teams.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with some presentation experience.
Proficiency in personal computer applications including Microsoft Office suite.
Successful candidate must demonstrate and value differences in others' strengths, perspectives, approaches ,and personal choices.
The job requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history.
Must be able to work Storm Duty during emergencies such as power outages, snow storms, wind storms etc.
Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Graduate level degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Law
Experience procuring / sourcing IT services, hardware, and software via an RFx process
Experience with e-Procurement systems such as ARIBA / SAP and RFP sourcing tools such as Power
Advocate
schedules, evaluation criteria) and subsequent responses, as required.
Receive and evaluate bids or proposals against RFx or other requirements.
Demonstrated experience in IT contract negotiation and development
Negotiate terms, pricing, scope and other issues with vendor(s) as necessary to achieve the desired results
Prepare recommendations or other documents to adequately document decision making information for long
term record keeping
General knowledge of contract law
Research and analyze spend data and provide recommendations for process improvements.
Experience with complex problem solving and innovative sourcing strategies
Lean Six Sigma knowledge and/or hands-on implementation experience
Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designated.
