Job Title: Sr. Process Manufacturing Engineer

Primary Function: Electroplating, Process Optimization and Cost Reduction

Evaluates manufacturing performance and assists operations with improving electroplating process. Work with outside vendors fine tuning chemistry and manufacturing process for use in STI proprietary wire application. Manage Outside Processing - overall material flow and production quality.

Working with Engineering compiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications of new and existing products. May conceive and plan projects involving definition and selection of new concepts, equipment automation technology, and approaches in the processing or development of new or improved processes.

Primary Duties:

  • Design process manufacturing solutions and lead continuous improvements in a 24/7 manufacturing operation.
  • Conduct product quality analysis based on process improvements, and provide input to engineering and operations planning teams for Continuous Improvement
  • Analyze for and implement cost reduction methods involved in production start-up, shut-down, and scheduled PM.

Qualifications

Education Musts

  • BSME, BSIE or equivalent
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Electroplating environment, optimizing process controls and reducing costs
  • Ability to travel work with vendors
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • 3-7 years experience
  • Cad Layout 2D
  • JMP SAS Software
  • Statistical Analysis (SPC and Design of Experiments)

Experience/Skills Musts

Experience/Skills Preferred

  • Reel to Reel manufacturing equipment
  • Use of Inspection equipment such as an Atomic Force Microscope or Scanning Electronic Microscope.

In the role, the Sr. SMT Manufacturing Engineer will be supporting all aspects of equipment and process on high volume surface mount assembly lines.
