Sr. Process and Project Engineer

Primary Role Responsibilities

1.Determine continuous improvement opportunities and implement process changes, cost studies, economic

evaluations and new process development in the production unit to optimize utilization (throughput, quality, safety,efficiency).

2.Assume advisory role and assist in day to day

troubleshooting of equipment and processes. Monitor productivity,

process yields, and product and process performance to meet production commitments in an efficient manner.

3.Develop, plan and coordinate projects from inception to completion ensuring efficient implementation, timely completion, and compliance to budget. May contribute on larger capital projects (CAPEX).

4.Ensure employees are trained on new and/or updated process changes and equipment design.

5.Ensure operating procedures are up to date and in compliance with appropriate standards.

6.Responsible for evaluation, installation, programming and service of various production equipment. Take production lead on migration of process control systems.

7.Directs and monitors productivity, process yields, and product and process performance to meet production commitments in an efficient manner.

8.Provide production supervision in absence of Plant Superintendent or Plant Manager.

9.Utilize technology to develop and incorporate evolutionary and revolutionary innovations and designs, which lead to increased quality, safety and/or cost reductions through optimization of people, processes, raw materials and capital assets.

  1. Provide engineering solutions that maximize our competitive advantage by meeting business needs.

  2. Manage the companys engineering efforts by providing continuous leadership and expertise. Support existing operations by troubleshooting equipment and systems and by offering to provide engineering support to maintenance activities.



  • BS Chemical Engineering with 5-7 years experience


  • Excellent computer skills

  • Working knowledge of process control systems

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment, team oriented, independent work skills and strong work ethic

The sanitation positions are responsible for food safety and quality by assuring the facility is maintained in a clean and sanitary state. Will lead and coach the team members to achieve optimum efficiency while maintaining high quality standards and safe operating procedures. Will contribute to the achievement of the department goals through development of a team environment that encourages continuous improvement. The Sanitation Lead has full authority over the assigned team members being responsible for the output of team: productivity, quality and safety. Essential Job Functions and Key Responsibilities: Coordinate activity by maintaining good work practices and by promoting and reinforcing company's policies and procedures (i.e.: Safety, SSOP's). * Maintains all work areas in a neat, clean, sanitary, and efficient manner, throughout the shift. * Assures that the sanitation team members follow the SSOP for the area assigned. * Knows where emergency stops are and know when and how to use them. * Operate power sprayers, foamers and other necessary equipment in a safe and efficient manner. * Follow safety SOP's, and use proper PPE when necessary. Report any unsafe conditions to management immediately. * Attend all GMP, Right-to-Know and chemical training sessions. * Read and understand SDS's. * Follow instructions from Quality Director or upper management. Monitors the cleanliness of production area: * Post sanitation check documentation Must communicate well with all departments; including Quality Control, Production, Mixing, Maintenance, Warehouse and all team members. Reviews with all team members the housekeeping issues generated by the Food Safety team and take the corrective and preventive actions as necessary. Communicate effectively to Quality Director: * Safety issues/concerns * Food safety and quality concerns * Sanitation issues/concerns. * Mechanical issues/concerns * Any sanitation deficiencies * Spills or hazardous waste concerns * Any personnel issues (either Gedney employees or temporary workers) * Work rule violations or Policies and Procedures violations * Accidents or injuries * Any additional, pertinent information Trains effectively the new team members, including any temporary workers. * Assists the Quality Director in establishing and revising the new employee training documentation and maintaining the new employee training file. Assists in the training process for the team, will be assigned to supervise and coordinate the training process in order to ensure job performance; assess the needs for additional training and communicate to the Quality Director. * Listens to concerns of sanitation employees and communicates information to upper management. Acts in a fair and consistent manner to maintain sanitation employee moral and motivation. * Encourages the achievement of departmental and company goals through employee involvement. Recognizes exceptional efforts by coaching and counseling as needed. * Attends training classes to enhance supervisory skills as assigned by management. * As requested by Quality Director, assists in the evaluation of the crew members. * As requested by management, assists with the implementation of the Standard Operating Procedures to maintain compliance with GMP standards. * Performs other tasks as requested by Quality Director or upper management. * During the absence of the Sanitation Lead the most senior sanitation employee shall be left in charge.
