Specialist role within Northrop Grumman's L&AC4ISR Division. Our team is looking for a qualified applicant to lead material planning and proposal efforts to support several of the key Program areas in the LTAMDS (Lower-Tier Air Missile Defense System) and Multi-Mission Business Areas.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Define and develops material strategy for the Programs

  • Assume lead responsibility for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; plans inventory, distribution requirements, production, material and rough-cut capacity for all products

  • Participate in make/buy decisions, long term capacity and resource planning; product line development, manufacturing ramp up, and prototype development

  • Participate in key proposal strategy and execution

  • Analyze and aggregates supply / demand requirements. Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) tools.

  • Plan inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements.

  • Assess rough-cut capacity for current and short-term manufacturing requirements.

  • Create/reduce supply requirements based on inventory adjustments.

  • Participate in long-term capacity and resource planning to ensure proper scheduling of new product line phase-ins as well as existing product line phase-outs.

  • Interface with Source process area regarding inventory levels, working capital and other areas as needed.

  • Create/release Program requirements (material and subcontract)

  • Receive/review requirements for non-standard parts.

  • Analyze lead times and identifies critical path procurements.

  • Develop key suppliers and sources for entry into key Program and Industry technology areas

Basic Qualifications:

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • US Citizenship Required

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience in supply chain, contracts, business and/or related field or a Master's degree and 8 years of experience in supply chain, contracts, business and/or related field

  • High proficiency with MS Office Suite

  • High proficiency with SAP ERP System

  • Experience with FAR/DFAR

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • High proficiency with SAP, particularly Supply Chain/MRP transactions

  • 8 years Subcontracts & Material requirement planning experience

  • 8 years of experience managing/developing suppliers in a high technology industry

The successful applicant will become a part of Northrop Grumman's Category Management Direct Group within the Mission Systems Sector, which is engaged throughout all aspects of the core technologies used within our major systems. Responsibilities will encompass the full range of the subcontract acquisition process including preparation and execution of a mixed portfolio of subcontracts while ensuring compliance to company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will understand the buyer and the seller roles in establishing mutually successful business arrangements, with experiences in work specifications and solicitations/bid packages, proposal evaluation, price and term negotiations, development of contractual documentation and post award administration. Candidates must be able to make sound decisions in a timely manner, display strong interpersonal skills, and have an agile perspective of compliance protocol mandated by regulated industry. Within the Category Management organization the candidate will support a team-based organization and perform activities in a variety of cross-functional areas including but not limited to strategic analysis, complex negotiations, materials planning, procurement execution/award, finance, and internal customer service. Ideal candidates are generally experienced in one or more areas of the procurement or contractual function(s), developing business relationships, and demonstrating an affinity for working with, or understanding both manufacturing and technology. This position is responsible for executing major procurement activities and providing contractual support and documentation to suppliers in support of proposals and programs. Basic Qualifications: A candidate, regardless of age and hiring source, must meet ALL of the below criteria. The basic requirements for a level 3 are: * Bachelor's or Master's Degree from an accredited institution * Six years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related experience with a Bachelor's Degree, Four years of supply chain, procurement, business management and/or related with a Master's Degree * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking and innovative behaviors in past projects, roles or experiences * Proficiency in MS Office suite Preferred Qualifications: * Demonstrated strong leadership skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a challenging environment * Professional experience in a regulated industry; to include Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, Telecommunications * SAP experience * Knowledge of FAR/DFAR * Demonstrated experience with multiple contracting formats, including Firm Fixed Price and/or Cost Reimbursable, * Familiarity with terms and conditions, and/or special contract clauses/types such as: long term agreements and intellectual property agreements. * Demonstrated negotiation experience Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
