As Privacy Counsel you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and experienced team on privacy issues impacting Apple's business and products globally. You will work directly with business and engineering teams to design innovative privacy solutions for products as well as across the legal department on Apple activities and regulatory issues.

Key Qualifications

Excellent academic credentials 5-9 years privacy experience as an associate at a top-tier law firm or business In-house experience a plus but not essential Excellent organizational and communication skills Extraordinary written and verbal skills Ability and commitment to work both independently and collaboratively with numerous people at all levels throughout the company Sound business judgment, and flexibility/adaptability to handle multiple wide-ranging matters, conflicting deadlines, and new areas of expertise as business needs change Demonstrated ability, in a positive, commercial and practical manner, to identify, prioritize and resolve issues quickly and effectively

Description

At Apple we are about creating great products. Part of making products great is designing products that respect consumer security and privacy. This senior role offers the opportunity to work directly with key members of the business, engineering and legal teams on a variety of cutting edge projects including: privacy by design reviews and projects support compliance and auditing frameworks including in relation to the GDPR advise on privacy aspects of licensing and procurement deals and corporate acquisitions assist with drafting of policies and procedures surrounding privacy laws.

Education

BA and JD 7- 10 year attorney with experience in privacy.

Education and Work Experience: * 3-5+ years of experience, preferably with at least 2 years of transactional experience handling matters related to customer and supplier contracts. In-house experience and major law firm experience favorably considered. * Superior written and oral communication skills, along with excellent presentation skills. * Ability to quickly establish a solid rapport and trust with the legal team and executives and develop strong working relationships with internal business partners. * Excellent strategic, organizational, and business process skills with the ability to follow through on numerous projects simultaneously and under tight deadlines. * Ability to work well independently, coupled with strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness, and an ability to participate in a highly collaborative team environment. * Flexibility, strong commitment to professionalism, and collegiality. * JD and current Bar membership in good standing is required (CA Bar preferred). To expedite consideration, candidates should provide numbers for published patent applications and/or patents that they have drafted and prosecuted in the related arts listed above.
