Project/Program Management - IC6 Leads and provides direction and guidance for a wide array of activities associated with project planning and management to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and to internal client specifications. Manages and oversees the end-to-end project management activities such as project reporting, project planning, issue/risk identification and tracking, scope management, estimation, client management, relationship management and other project documentation preparation for projects of high complexity.

Defines and manages the lifecycle from project initiation through to program closure. Manages and resolves risks, issues and dependencies. Reports and escalates progress/issues to executive management, as needed.

Measures and monitors program actuals, forecasts and budgets and updates plans with accurate, up-to-date information in a timely manner. Follows financial standards and processes (e.g. monthly external revenue accruals, procurement and external payments). Reports financial information and status to the required executive level through steering committees. Secures, leads, motivates and inspires the internal and external resources required to deliver the program.

Establishes the program s governance (e.g. sponsors, approvers, stakeholders). May have formal management responsibility for Program Team members. Serves as a liaison between internal clients and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to specification. Has regular contact among peers within the firm and externally, including regulators and professional organizations.

Provides advice to internal clients on the implications of business trends, issues, operating environment changes and firm or business unit strategy. Ensures project delivery is in conformance with company methodologies and standards. Serves as a liaison between clients and internal groups to ensure delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to specification.

Manages communication with senior business leaders at a detailed functional level and discusses/resolves issues. Manages client expectations and ensures project delivery.


Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in business management or related field is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred. 12 plus years of total work experience in Project Management preferred.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or Prince2 certification is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

Our four major business lines include Corporate & Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate, and Wells Fargo Commercial Capital. This position is within the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) Control Team, which is responsible for effective governance, design, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of risk and controls within the line of business. The Business Control Manager will provide dedicated Risk and Control coverage for CIB/Wells Fargo Securities Operations. The individual will be responsible for partnering with Operations, Technology, Risk and the Business to implement corporate risk program requirements such as Process Mapping, Risk-Control Self Assessment (RCSA), Self-Assurance, Loss and Near-miss Capture and Issues Management. This position requires a broad understanding of Markets products in addition to Global Operations, Operations Technology, Compliance and market best practices. Specific responsibilities include: * Execute and manage the advancement of core risk program requirements such as RCSA, Self-Assurance, Issues Management, Process Mapping, loss capture as well as related enterprise risk programs (BCP, Information Security, Sales Practices, Conduct Risk, etc.) * Establishing the product-risk portfolio profile, rating and trend for coverage areas across the L1 and L2 risk types defined in the Corporate Risk Management Framework * Establish the inventory of all relevant business processes, governance channels, internal testing, audit, regulatory engagements and prioritize internal preparation, review routines and the integration with RCSA/BPM as applicable * Establish regular routines with corporate risk, testing & validation and audit partners to provide transparency into business risk profile and trend * Establish a formal communication channel to inform coverage areas of risk program updates, risk profiles, policy updates and other key risk program information to impacted coverage areas * Establish in partnership with Independent Risk, an Operations focused Risk-Governance forum, RCSA Affirmation process and related feeder/governance meetings * Management reporting: Establish and update regular risk reports for communication of risk ratings, issues and key topics * Work with the business and support teams to provide operational risk expertise and consulting for projects and platform initiatives * Conduct risk assessments to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures, processes, systems, technology and internal controls * Analyze business, industry, system changes or other material business environment changes to determine impact, identify and assess operational risk issues * Report risk assessment findings through corporate risk reporting channels and develop business cases to influence control owners and business sponsors on the need for additional or improved controls to mitigate risk as applicable Team members support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company.
