Manage the development and implementation process of a specific company product involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products. Plan and direct schedules and monitor budget/spending. Monitor the project from initiation through delivery. Organize the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints. Assign and monitor work of systems analysis and program staff, providing technical support and direction.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. Ten or more years of project management, product design or related experience needed.

About the job

You will be joining a growing, agile, world-class team of engineers, who develop and automate the provisioning, management, and monitoring of Oracle Public Cloud network infrastructure. As a technical program manager you will engage with users to understand business needs and work with the engineering team to develop an effective, efficient, and operable solution. This includes things like:

  • Work across business and operations stakeholder to understand solution needs and capabilities required to improve solution offerings.

  • Evaluation of existing or 3rd-party software solutions available.

  • Prioritize deliverables according to business needs and engage developers in planning and estimating work.

  • Analyze best practices and emerging concepts in Infrastructure Automation to improve team development process.

What you need to have

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science or related field of study

  • Experience managing projects in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment)

  • Experience working across disciplines to establish roadmaps, set appropriate expectations and deliver products and services meeting high operational excellence

  • Expertise working with teams to build highly-scalable distributed solutions; designing services as APIs (SOAP and REST)

  • Understanding of data models using relational databases and/or NoSQL

  • Track record of delivering assigned projects on time with high quality, using Agile, DevOps, and SRE practices and toolsets

  • Strong understanding of network concepts including L2/L3/Leaf-spine architectures, TCP/IP, BGP, IP/Peer/Circuit provisioning

Technical Qualifications

  • Experience with Linux OS environments and configuration of networking and security

  • Understanding of standard services such as TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, HTTPD, etc.

  • Knowledge of software-defined network (SDN) concepts and methods for managing network configuration with code

  • Demonstrated experience with object-oriented programming in languages like Python, Java, C , etc. and application of development patterns like MVC, MVVM, etc.

  • Working knowledge of one or more automation tools like Ansible, Chef, netconf

What the perfect candidate will have

In addition to the knowledge, skills and experiences listed above, an ideal candidate will have:

  • 5 years previous technical program management experience for a software development company

  • 2 years of development experience

  • Experience with executing Agile, DevOps processes; including certifications (e.g. Scrum Master, Scrum Developer, etc.)

  • Experience with large datacenter environments: build-outs, migrations, and scaling large datacenters

  • Experience managing with mission-critical production environments
