Job Description:

The Sr. Principle Systems Engineer analyzes user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.

Analyze system requirements and leads design and development activities. Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies. Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.

Incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develops technical documentation. Develop system architecture and system design documentation.

Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility. Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Required Skills:

Twenty (20) years' experience as a Systems Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required. Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree

This team will support the systems analysis &amp; design as well as development &amp; implementation phases of the lifecycle. This job is located in Dulles, VA with frequent/full remote capability during the pandemic.</p><p><br></p> <p><strong>DUTIES:</strong> </p> <ul> <li>Support the development of system capabilities from the identification of requirements through the deployment of capabilities through the requirements definition, design and develop system-oriented products and prepare related installation, testing, operation, and maintenance specifications and instructions.</li> <li>Define and analyze architecture to establish operating conditions, conduct tests, define and analyze engineering proposals and related technical data to determine feasibility of developing new capabilities and/or modifying existing capabilities.</li> <li>The Systems Engineer is cognizant of Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) processes and practices, Change Management practices, and collaborates with various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Project Teams, and Government entities.</li> <li>Define, plan and manage work packages (WP). Includes defining task, WP duration, WP sequencing, critical path analysis, resource assignment, and input to the Integrated master Schedule (IMS).</li> <li>Establish common processes across tasks, including configuration management (CM), risk management, quality assurance (QA), etc. </li> <li>Provide technical direction for development, engineering, interfacing, integration and testing of components of system.</li> <li>Perform requirement elicitation, analysis and functional allocation.</li> <li>Conduct systems requirement reviews.</li> <li>Develop CONOPS, interface standards, system architectures.</li> <li>Perform technical and non-technical assessment and management along with end-to-end flow analysis.</li> <li>Implements operational view, technical standards view, and system and services view for architectures using applicable standards (e.g., DODAF, FEAF).</li> <li>Manage multiple projects of variable size and perform team lead functions.</li> <li>Define, plan and manage work packages (WP); including: defining task, WP duration, WP sequencing, critical path analysis, resource assignment, and input to the Integrated master Schedule (IMS).</li> <li>Establish common processes across tasks, including configuration management (CM), risk management, quality assurance (QA), etc.</li> <li>Provide internal and external customers with technical design support to system acquisition specification, design, proof-of-concept prototyping, development and evaluation of management information and decision support system.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>KEY REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p><ul> <li>Six (6) or more years of systems engineering experience required.</li> <li>A Master’s degree in a related discipline may substitute for two (2) years of experience. A PhD may substitute for four (4) years of experience.</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline is required.</li> <li>Experience and/or familiarity with MS Office, including Word, Excel, Project required.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience or familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS), compliant with ANSI/EIA Standard 748-B desired.</li> <li>Agile development methodology experience required.</li> <li>DoD 8570.1-M Compliance at IAT Level I certification required.
