The Systems Architecture Design and Integration Directorate (SADID) is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within IDS. More than 1000 employees of SADID provide requirements definition, design at the system, subsystem and component level, and overall systems integration.
The Ship Self Defense System (SSDS) Program has a need for an engineer with strong systems engineering experience on a classified software development program.
A team member working with system architects, engineering leads and other systems engineering peers on architecture and system designs, requirements development, and modeling and simulation on a classified software development program.
Develop white papers, perform trade studies, and manage requirements for a software development program
Using MATLab, perform modeling and simulation development, and analysis of results
Participate as a member of a scrum team performing multidiscipline agile development of software.
Correct defects and participate in testing and validation of system requirements
Work with limited supervision, and take ownership of project to achieve schedule, financial, and technical goals as assigned
Some travel may be required
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date
Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in a STEM discipline, with relevant professional experience
8 or more years of systems engineering experience
Employ a functional knowledge of a wide variety of System Engineering processes into a system architecture/design.
Work experience with system requirements on past projects
Experience in system effectiveness and operational analysis
Requirements generation, decomposition, and allocation
Performance assessment and trade study experience
Must be self-motivated and possess strong written & oral communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to independently pursue information
Must be adaptable and willing to work varying assignments
The Ability to attain a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date
Combat System Design & Integration
Modeling and simulation analysis and tool development
Algorithm design and development
Radar and missile systems integration
Tracking and discrimination
Validation & verification experience
Experience with integration of products on US Navy warships
DOORS requirements management experience
