Northrop Grumman Technology Services sector is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs ePerformance Program. This position is hosted in our McLean, VA location and allows for full-time telework. The position will support our Northrop Grumman Cloud Platform (NGCP) in our FedRAMP certified Amazon Web Services environment. The candidate will interface with our existing NGCP team, but have responsibility for standup and maintenance of our VA instance of ePerformance.

The candidate will be responsible for handling day-to-day information technology (IT) operations for the program's various computer systems and network infrastructure. Regular duties to include providing general production and non-production support including building, deploying, and maintaining physical and virtual servers, debugging system issues, supporting general O&M assignments, performing and maintaining backups, working with the program team to identify and resolve issues, troubleshooting devices and issues independently or in conjunction with vendor support, supporting network switches, firewall, load balancers, cables and equipment, making recommendations for future upgrades, supporting and maintaining a local network, managing a virtualized server infrastructure, interacting with IT and Development teams to build, deploy, integrate and support ePerformance, performing upgrades, deploying enhancements, and completing all required patch and remediation activities, as well as ensuring systems are compliant with STIG requirements.

Responsibilities also include maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, consistently delivering timely, high quality products and services on current and future efforts, and working effectively with our employees, subcontractors, and the VA's staff in a diverse team environment.

In addition to providing Systems Administration support, the candidate may be required to provide ad hoc support to the FedRAMP project manager during our yearly audit including documentation support.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related

discipline and 10 years of experience OR a Masters degree and 8 years of

experience

  • 10 years Systems Administration experience

  • 8 years of Windows Administration experience

  • Experience building and maintaining physical and virtual servers

  • Experience deploying patches

  • Fundamental understanding of server related networking

  • Excellent listening, analytical, oral and written communication,organizational,

and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to independently organize work, prioritize tasks and manage multiple

and changing priorities

  • Ability to work as a member of a team or independently as required

  • Must be available to provide scheduled and ad hoc evening and weekend

support

  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust designation security clearance

  • Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting the

LogRhythm SIEM solution on a variety of high volume corporate platforms

and/or Cloud Based PaaS solutions (AWS Preferred).

  • Extensive experience architecting, building, and troubleshooting secure

AWS Cloud Platforms with an emphasis on Active Directory

Architecture\Engineering\Administration, LAN\WAN Traffic Analysis, PaaS

perimeter protection devices and techniques, and secure multi-region

services integration.

  • Extensive experience building and administering virtual platforms with an

emphasis on AWS PaaS solutions hosting Windows 2012R2/2016 Servers

and RHEL 6.x/7.x, Ubuntu LTS, AWS Linux.

  • Experience with AWS based SOPHOS UTM, Nessus, and CA PAM virtual

security appliance configurations.

  • Deep working knowledge of NIST 800-53 Rev. 4 & FIPS140-2 level 2/level 3

controls and their application to achieving\maintaining FedRAMP

certification.

  • VMware experience

  • Experience with Apache server

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS) administration experience

  • Scripting Experience

  • Active Directory Experience

  • Web services Experience

  • DNS Experience

  • Experience working within an Agile framework
