The Missile Defense & Surveillance Software team is comprised of engineers in Huntsville, Alabama; McKinney, Texas; Chesapeake, Virginia; and Tewksbury, MA. The SW Section Manager will coordinate with other managers in the aforementioned locations as needed and will also work with a team of software engineers to develop and test new capabilities or to maintain existing capabilities. The Missile Defense & Surveillance Software Department strives for technical excellence by drawing upon a diverse workforce whose knowledge base spans the entire software development life cycle and covers the complete spectrum of modern languages and computing platforms.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:
The SW Section Manager will perform line management of a section of software engineers within the department, ensuring that each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancement. Section management duties include:
Performance development and appraisal, salary and manpower planning and ensuring adherence to company policies.
Contributing significantly to the technical oversight of employees in support of their work assignments, and
Supporting a major program, including possible leadership or key individual contributor role.
The ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance is required.
Qualifications You Must Have:
B.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or related STEM field
10+ years' experience with Line and / or Project Management
Experience developing software in a team-based development environment, preferably using Agile/SCRUM
Technical leadership in software development and software lifecycle activities
Strong experience with C++, Java or other programming languages
