Raytheon is seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Principal Linux System Administrator to join our Digital Technology team in a classified environment. As a System Administrator Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team monitoring and maintaining system health and security posture, directly supporting customer mission-critical capabilities. You and your team will work closely with program developers and system engineers to research issues, determine root causes, and implement solutions to system problems. Many programs employ Agile methodology in managing work. This position is an onsite role in Richardson, TX.

What You Will Do

  • Administering Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating/maintaining RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security hardening

  • Installing, administering and troubleshooting recent versions of VMware (ESXi and vCenter)

  • Must be able to support occasional after hour maintenance and on-call support

  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.

  • Must be able to develop solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problems.

  • Travel required to other US Domestic locations as business needs dictate up to 10% travel.

  • Full time 100% Onsite position

  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds for hardware installs.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires bachelor's degree and minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or a master's degree and minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Must have Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI CI Poly security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

  • Must have Linux experience

  • Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND.

  • Mentor or lead experience required

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience administering Windows based systems

  • Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP

  • Strong analytic research and communication skills - must be detail oriented

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency

  • Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
