Responsibilities include supporting design requirements for electrical power generation, conversion and distribution systems, and circuit protective requirements for aerospace vehicle systems. Troubleshoot aircraft and mission systems, interpret wiring diagrams and other documentation to create and revise power test procedures and publications.

Assume technical ownership of assigned power design/analysis products (ELA's, SWaPs, test procedures, power architectures, reports, analyses, and other vehicle power related deliverables). Ensure power design practices adhere to NGC and/or specific program requirements. Familiarization with Mil-Std-704 required. Insure designs are coordinated with applicable stakeholders in key disciplines (M&P, Quality, Manufacturing, Systems, Avionics, etc.) and reflect efficient design practices (Weight, Produceability, Supportability).

Basic Qualifications:

BS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 9 years of experience in electrical power/auxiliary systems and power distribution including power generation and conversion, external power and APU.

Must be able to create, review and maintain Electrical Load Analysis to determine suitable power availability for mission and aircraft systems.

Secret DOD Security Clearance (last investigation date no older than Feb 2014)

Preferred Qualifications:

MS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of applicable experience

VIEW JOBS 11/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-15T00:00 Mission Systems (NGMS) seeks a Systems Engineer experienced with MILSATCOM terminal systems. The position is located in Melbourne, FL. The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing requirements definition and assessing requirement compliance for a protected SATCOM terminal system. The candidate will also contribute to the development and testing of other related SATCOM systems. The candidate must be able to converse technically with vendors to assess their adherence to system requirements and schedule as well as communicate technical aspects of this to the customer. The candidate will also oversee subcontractor performance and serve as a Control Account Manager (CAM) for the subcontract. As CAM, the candidate will monitor the subcontract on a weekly basis for cost and schedule compliance as well as other earned value metrics. The CAM will approve any variances to subcontractor cost or schedule and will also report to the program manager weekly on the status of the subcontract. As CAM, the candidate will provide necessary reporting to the appropriate levels both within and without NGMS whenever variances are noted. The candidate will be the lead person for making recommendations to the customer on alternatives and changes that will improve the overall protected SATCOM system. The candidate will also work closely with the Integration and Test team to define test approaches and objectives, and to coordinate their schedule with the subcontract deliverables schedule to ensure all resources and items are ready for each test event. Additionally, the candidate will support testing of the Protected SATCOM system. This position may be filled at a higher grade based on the qualifications below. FLOMSTR This requisition may be filled at either the Principal or Senior Principal Systems Engineer Education/Experience Principal Systems Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science related STEM degree; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. Education/Experience Senior Principal Systems Engineer: 9 Years with Bachelors in Science related STEM degree; 7 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD. Basic Qualifications for both levels: * Experience in operation of MILSTAR, AEHF, or other SATCOM terminals * Knowledge of SATCOM planning and operational access processes * Experience with using Protected cryptography equipment * Working knowledge of IATT/ATT and IATO/ATO processes * Familiarity with emerging aperture technologies and their impact/usefulness on SATCOM links * Understanding and familiarity with RF performance at various frequencies * Excellent oral and written communication skills with Strong interpersonal skills * Able to collaborate in a team environment with engineers from other disciplines * US Citizenship required with a Current DoD SECRET security clearance to start. Preferred Qualifications for both levels: * Experience designing and/or testing SATCOM terminals. * Previous experience as a CAM or overseeing contractor support. * Understanding of interference/scintillation effects and methods to mitigate them * Current DoD SECRET clearance within past 5 years.
