SRI Education (a division of SRI International) is committed to bringing rigorous research and evaluation data to bear on important decisions concerning K-16 education. We are seeking to hire up to two Senior Principal Education Researchers. We seek candidates with strong research training and expertise in K-12 teacher development and teaching quality, school reform, equity in education.

The Senior Principal Education researcher will:

  • Conceptualize, plan, lead and advance a body of research in area of expertise and is responsible for the intellectual leadership as principal investigator of large and complex projects, managing client relationships and interacting at senior levels in the client organization

  • Lead and collaborate with team members to design and conduct rigorous research, large-scale program evaluations and technical assistance efforts that inform important policy and program decisions concerning K-16 education as it relates to teacher preparation, human capital management, teacher professional development, and data use for continuous improvement

  • Write reports, policy papers, and articles for clients, policymakers, and practitioners, and present study findings to relevant audiences

  • Provide review and quality assurance to research designs, analysis, and reports of more junior staff

  • Increase impact and visibility of work through publications and conference presentations

  • Lead and support business development with federal, commercial, and foundation clients through marketing, proposal writing, and networking

  • upervise and mentor other researchers and junior analysts in their career growth

  • Play an active role in CERI and SRI Education leadership

  • Contribute to a positive and professional working environment

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Education, Public Policy, or a Social Science discipline or comparable experience

  • At least 8 years of research experience including at least four years as a principal investigator, co-principal investigator (PI) or project director (PD)

  • Knowledge of and experience with current policy issues and interventions in K-16 education with emphasis on educator preparation, human capital management, educator professional development, and using data for planning and improvement.

  • Track record of winning competitive bid contracts and grants with federal, state, foundation, and/or commercial clients

  • Experience with research design, collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data, and reporting of results to varied audiences

  • Effective communicator, including excellent writing skills and the ability present research plans and findings in compelling ways

  • Strong interpersonal and supervision skills

  • Commitment to collaborative work

  • A passion to improve education for all students

Preference will be given to candidates who have:

  • Experience with learning standards and assessment

  • Training or experience in advanced experimental and quasi-experimental designs and analysis

  • Prior publications in peer-reviewed journals

Raytheon is seeking an experienced Network-based Systems Analyst to join an exciting new opportunity. The Network-based Systems Analyst will assist the Government lead in performing command and control functions in response to incidents, coordinate with and provide expert technical support to enterprise-wide Computer Network Defense technicians with respect to resolving incidents, serve as technical expert and liaison to the intelligence community (IC) and law enforcement personnel explaining incident details as required, conduct peer reviews and supports quality assurance activities for junior personnel, supports with overseeing technical analysis and mentoring/providing guidance to others on data collection, analysis and reporting in support of onsite engagements. The Network-based Systems Analyst will assist the Government lead in coordinating teams in preliminary incident response investigations, assist the Government lead with interfacing with the customer while onsite, determines appropriate courses of actions in response to identified and analyzed anomalous network activity, assess network topology and device configurations identifying critical security concerns and providing security best practice recommendations, assist with the writing and publishing of Computer Network Defense guidance and reports on incident findings to appropriate constituencies. The Network-based Systems Analyst will collect network intrusion artifacts (e.g., domains, URI's, certificates, etc.) and use discovered data to enable mitigation of potential Computer Network Defense incidents, analyze identified malicious network activity to determine weaknesses exploited, exploitation methods, effects on system and information, collect network device integrity data and analyze for signs of tampering or compromise, assist with real-time CND incident handling (i.e., forensic collections, intrusion correlation and tracking, threat analysis, and advising on system remediation) tasks to support onsite engagements. This role will monitor external data sources to maintain currency of Computer Network Defense threat conditions, perform analysis of log files from a variety of sources (e.g., network traffic logs, firewall logs, intrusion detection system logs, DNS logs) to identify possible threats to network security, receive and analyze network alerts from various sources within the enterprise and determine possible causes of such alerts, track and document Computer Network Defense incidents from initial detection through final resolution.
