Job Description

This position is for a Sr. Principal Applications Engineer in Skyworks Diversified Analog Solutions Business unit. The role is focused largely on Connectivity solutions (i.e. Wi-Fi, GPS, UWB, etc.) products but will also require occasional support on IoT, Bluetooth, and Automotive products.

Our application team is responsible for helping customers to adopt our parts successfully on their projects.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Principal Application Engineer, you will have both an internal and external facing role. Internally, you will be working with our design teams to help optimize customer reference designs and you will interface directly with our Product Line Management, Systems, and Marketing teams. Externally, you will be involved in optimizing customer designs and to provide direction to our customers. The successful candidate will possess an excellent understanding of RF and WLAN design and will have excellent communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• BSEE + 15 or MSEE with at least 12+ years' experience or PhD with at least 10 years' experience which must include experience in RF Systems.

• Must have experience in a customer-facing role.

• Some travel will be required, including international travel, to visit customer sites.

• Highly desirable to have experience with Digital predistortion, RF test equipment, RF PCB design, RF test and troubleshooting of RF circuits and RF systems analysis.

• Highly desirable to have experience working with Tier 1 WLAN SoC suppliers.

• Must have a strong theoretical background in fundamental RF and systems design. Understanding of IEEE 802.11 standard, and FCC part 15 regulations would be beneficial.

• Working knowledge of RF simulation software (Genesys, MATLAB, ADS) would be beneficial.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $136,800 - $271,500 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
