Senior Polymer Materials Engineer to join our team!

Resodyn Corporation has developed an advanced, novel thermal spray coating platform technology that has a broad range of applications, which includes spray coating thermoplastics, hybrid thermosets, UV curable polymer powders, structural coatings, composites, foams, etc.

Resodyn is working with various clients on application of the technology for a broad range of applications that include Polymer Matrix Composites (PMC), Metal Matrix Composites (MMC), Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC), High performance polymers, Multi-Functional Materials (nano-materials used to modify properties and characteristics of a base material), and Polymer adhesion. These will include functionally graded coatings, structural coatings, near-net-shape, foams, protective coatings, high-temperature coatings, etc. The successful candidate should be cognizant of material property characterization requirements and procedures. Areas of technical responsibilities will include material selection, material strength characterization, coating process development, and coating composition optimization.

The coating application markets will include industrial, aerospace, and military. The successful candidate will work closely with coating developers and be knowledgeable of customer requirements for new materials applications.

The position includes capabilities to author, to compete for and win advanced polymer materials development work, as well as projects that include novel polymer application research and development materials.

The candidate will be responsible to write proposals, give presentations and communicate well between technical, marketing and business functions and enthusiasm for working in a diverse, demanding and exciting technology environment is crucial. Strong work ethic and team player attributes are paramount.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from an ABET accredited college is required.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience including familiarity with engineered polymer materials

  • US Citizen

VIEW JOBS 9/2/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-12-01T00:00 JOB SUMMARY The Mobile HVAC/R Building Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of refrigeration equipment for multiple facilities. Company van, gas card, tools, phone and uniforms are provided for this position. Utilizes advanced building maintenance skills to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment in multiple retail buildings within a route. Monitors building system operations and performance and interacts directly with store management. Utilizes several trade skills beyond HVAC and refrigeration skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling. Must be flexible on schedule. Ideal candidates will have prior experience as a Refrigeration Technician, HVACR Service Technician, Refrigeration Maintenance Technician or Building Maintenance Worker. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the preventative maintenance and corrective repair of HVAC roof top units (RTU's) and refrigeration equipment such as walk in/reach in coolers and freezers. Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety. Inspects building systems at multiple retail buildings to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client. Oversees and inspects the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work includes landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbers, and cleaning. Performs assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required. Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks. Utilizes CMMS to manage work orders and track completion. Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum. Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements. Performs welding, carpentry, furniture assembly, locksmith, and plumbing tasks as needed. Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed. Willing to be available to complete required work. Performs other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES EPA Certification Required. Refrigeration License from an accredited school or through a completed apprenticeship program preferred. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local jurisdictions. Position requires valid driver's license. COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees. Ability to communicate effectively with store management, 3rd party vendors, and retail customers. FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Requires intermediate analytical skills. OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES Uses personal computer and / or PDA for work order system, email, ESS and training. Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook.
