Sr. Platform Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sr. Platform Engineer to architect, automate, test, and deploy a ground satellite operations software in Kubernetes for our client in Los Angeles, CA. This is a Remote position. The candidate will implement practices to enable DevSecOps with a focus on security and compliance for SOC2, NIST 800-171, and FedRAMP Medium controls. This position is for a self-starter who has initiative and wants to build something awesome!

Technical Requirements:

• Expertise managing Kubernetes-based architecture and providing platform infrastructure in a production environment

• Strong proficiency developing Infrastructure as Code (IAC) solutions using Terraform or alternative tools

• Proficiency in Python and experience working with software teams developing distributed microservice software capabilities

• Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch or similar

• Familiarity with cloud services in AWS (preferred) / Azure / GCP and ability to make trades on cloud native vs self-hosted software capabilities

• Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch or similar

• Understanding of networking using VPN's, NLB/ALB's, HTTPS, TLS, and CDN

• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containerized applications, and serverless architecture

• Strong knowledge of designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting APIs services, distributed NoSQL and relational databases, caching systems, event-driven and multi-tier architectures

• Strong knowledge of task automation and CI/CD pipeline building, preferably with GitHub actions but not required

• Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems

• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and cost-effective cloud architecture

• Use of identity and access management via Auth0 or Okta

• Familiarity with Git and GitHub or similar framework for version control

Requirements Include:

• 5+ Years of relevant experience

• Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or alike field

Compensation Includes:

• $145,000 - $186,000 Depending on Experience
