Full Time 40 Hours
Operates, monitors, maintains and replaces electrical equipment and devices related hospital physical plant equipment, throughout the health system, at a high level of reliability and efficiency, while assuring compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. This position is responsible for a broad spectrum of electrical equipment including; distribution, lighting, motors, switches, starters, control relays and other electric control circuitry.
High school or vocational school graduate, or equivalent.
Holds at minimum a current E1 or E2 Connecticut trade license and minimum of 5 years trade related experience.
Knowledgeable in electrical distribution, troubleshooting distribution and component level equipment, abides by safe electrical practices.
Understanding of physical plant systems, including electrical, side of HVAC, steam, chilled water and plumbing.
Strong problem solving skills.
Qualified to work on equipment voltage up to 480 VAC.
Ability to work with others of similar and other trades both hospital plant operations group and outside contractors.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, strong problem solving and communication skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of electrical distribution.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
Excellent troubleshooting and electrical diagnostic skills
Provide assistance to other department tradesmen and technician as needed.
Maintain documentation as required for regulatory and institution purposes.
Maintain appropriate spare parts.
