What will you be doing?

Barclays Services LLC seeks Sr. Performance Engineer, AVP in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

  • Work on LoadRunner Tool for creating test scripts within different Protocols and write code in C, C++, Java programming languages to create and execute robust performance test scenarios to simulate real-world usage

  • Work on open-source tools like JMeter and Gatling and create scripts using JAVA, Scala, Groovy, JavaScript and bash scripts for a variety of applications and write Python based solutions for test data setup and code reuse during Volumetric tests

  • Code management using GIT/Bitbucket repository and integrate with Jenkins CI/CD pipeline for executing Load test and collate Perf test results using code automation

  • Analyze and assess business software performance testing to identify software application problems and to ensure stability and scalability of applications to ensure systems can handle expected growth in traffic and data by implementing auto-scaling and load balancing strategies

  • Configure/instrument diagnostic and monitoring tools like Wily Introscope, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic and Prometheus to continuously measure real-time data, detect, isolate, and resolve performance anomalies/bottleneck/trends and provide Capacity estimations

  • Design and conduct performance, load, capacity, endurance, stress and failover tests with complex workloads and data shapes to expose potential bottlenecks and failure points of micro services, backend, and 3rd party services as well as end user centric websites

  • Analyze response trends and server metrics to find possibilities of performance failures and prepare detailed analysis reports with observations and provide actionable recommendations for optimization

  • Analyze metrics and trends to glean opportunities for performance improvements of various systems, and architect and build the next generation performance tools to help the performance team be more efficient at performance engineering

  • Strategize and devise the chaos engineering practice wherein specific experiments are designed and executed to identify the application flaws/ failure points before they occur in production.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, QA engineers, and system administrators for performance tuning discussions and architectural reviews along with providing test findings, progress, and potential risks to stakeholders effectively

  • Deploy and manage applications and infrastructure in cloud platforms such as Redhat OpenShift Cloud and AWS; and optimize cloud resource usage for cost-efficiency

  • Conducts system level analysis activities for Linux servers and create Shell scripts for network monitoring and log analysis

What we're looking for:

  • Employer will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Applied Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or a related field; and

  • Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related occupation.
