Job Summary

Rockwell Collins is currently seeking a Senior Printed Circuit Designer. The ideal candidate will have a broad technical background designing high reliability Printed Circuit Boards per engineering requirements. Experience with highly complex high-speed digital designs and power supplies are required; analog circuits, RF circuits and flex circuits preferred. The candidate must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to problem solve independently.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare PC Design layouts, revisions or CAD library symbols per verbal instructions, electrical inputs, existing hardware or engineering lab models, received from both mechanical and electrical engineering and/or other technical support personnel to create highly complex circuit card assemblies incorporating Rockwell Collins best practice for fabrication, assembly and testability.

Interface and troubleshoot printed circuit designs, revisions and CAD library symbols with Manufacturing, Engineering and PWB fabrication vendors.

Proficient in Mentor EE7 schematic capture tool and Zuken CR5000 design capture tool, extensive use and knowledge Auto Router and PCB design simulation (e.g. EMI signal integrity, thermal, signal analysis and design assembly and fabrication rules).

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong understanding of Electronic Hardware Design

  • Functional knowledge of IPC standards for Design and Acceptance Criteria of Printed Circuit and/or Circuit card Assembly levels, knowledge of Rockwell Collins Workmanship Standards a plus

  • Demonstrated technical problem solving aptitude

  • Exceptional communication skills - verbal and written

  • Strong customer service orientation, to work with Design Engineering Customers

  • Exceptional problem solving skills

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize work

  • General ability to apply proper customer focused presence when interacting with internal customers

  • Demonstrated ability to follow through with work assignments and support management's policies and procedures

  • Ability to support overtime as requested/required

  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to continually learn new technologies and processes

  • Must have a passion for accuracy and customer service

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Engineering/Technology, and nine years of related experience, or, in the absence of an associates degree, twelve years of related experience
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident (green card) required

Applied Concepts, Inc., is a Richardson, Texas based electronics company, with 150 employees, specializing in Radar and Lidar speed measurement products and police video products. We were founded in 1977 and design, build, and sell all of our own products worldwide. We are looking for an exceptional individual that can join our new CopTrax Video Product Team to help configure, install, and troubleshoot our new CopTrax PC Video system that is installed on touchscreen semi-rugged laptops in Police Vehicles. The CopTrax system uploads police video wirelessly, using 3G, 4G and WiFi technology to Microsoft Cloud Servers. We will expect you to help continue the company's tradition of being the sales and customer service leader in our marketplace. We will be particularly interested if: * You have a small company background and are used to "wearing many hats" * You have a great attention to detail and enjoy working under deadlines * You are a people person and can succeed working with others Job Activities: Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the PC SUPPORT/WIRELESS NETWORK SPECIALIST will have the responsibility of configuring, installing and troubleshooting our new CopTrax PC Video system. In addition to both factory and field PC software installation and imaging, driver installation and troubleshooting, the position will provide user computer help desk support and provide software and hardware training for end users. If you have 3-4 years of PC hardware and software support experience and have proven skills in these areas please read on. Responsibilities: * Factory Equipment Configuration - Factory PC software installation and imaging, driver installation, and troubleshooting. This includes semi-rugged and rugged XP and Windows touchscreen computers. The CopTrax PC system uses USB Cameras, GPS, Wifi, 3G, and 4G accessories and drivers. * On-Site Equipment Configuration – Customer On-Site PC software installation and imaging, driver installation, and troubleshooting. This includes semi-rugged and rugged XP and Windows computers. The system uses GPS, Wifi, 3G, and 4G accessories and software. * Work directly with customer's IT organizations and/or with end users - to insure seamless integration of hardware and software into the customer's networks and/or to cloud storage. * Help Desk Support - Responsible for IT support of our Law Enforcement end-users.
