This person will work on a team of 2 other Payroll Specialists to process bi-weekly payroll for a high volume of international and domestic employees in ADP Processing benefit deductions, 401k, wage garnishments, tax withholding, terminations Generating reports in Oracle Completing advanced functions in Excel including v-look ups and pivot tables

Requirements
ADP STRONG EXCEL SKILLS REQUIRED Experience in both Payroll AND General Accounting REQUIRED

VIEW JOBS 11/13/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-11T00:00 The Senior Payroll Coordinator will process payroll for multiple employee departments. This will entail responsibility for check distribution, collection and reconciliation of time and attendance, and input and verification of employee pay data changes. Further, incumbents will provide guidance and act as an example in terms of work quality and timeliness. Incumbents will also be responsible for ad hoc reporting, following standard processes, and assisting with process documentation.    Primary Responsibilities: Accurate and timely processing of payroll for multiple departments in bi-weekly payroll environments.  Payroll processing accountabilities will include: * Uploading payroll template files * Input of W-4 information * Staying in compliance with tax and labor laws * Garnishments * Balancing payroll files and reports * Year-end processing, including W-2 balancing and auditing data * Calculating manual checks * Resolving Tier I and Tier II employee inquiries * Following standard protocol for data entry into and reporting from HR systems * Learning standard protocols, procedures and systems across the spectrum of payroll activities * Other duties as assigned   Skills and competencies required: Technical * Intermediate to Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel * Knowledge of ADP's Enterprise Version 5 sufficient to process payroll via standard protocol  * Knowledge of ADP's Reporting tool sufficient to execute payroll and HR queries from multiple tables, without outer joins.   Payroll * Ability to proactively identify payroll issues and suggest solutions * Knowledge of how to manually calculate a payroll check * Intermediate knowledge of Federal, State, and Local tax requirements   Education & Experience: * High School Diploma required * Experience sufficient to demonstrate the above competencies; typically gained through a minimum of 3+ years of payroll processing in a multi-state environment. * Minimum 2+ years of experience specifically with ADP - EV5, Reporting and Portal. * Systems knowledge required includes: eTime, ADP Enterprise Version 5    Behavioral * Excellent communication skills sufficient to Appropriately manage contact with customers   Physical Requirements: *  Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing). * The person in this position needs to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. * Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. * Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings.   * LI-ZB1 ABOUT US: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (NASDAQ:HMHC) is a global learning company dedicated to changing people's lives by fostering passionate, curious learners.
