What to expect:
Martin Marietta is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to join the payroll team. This position will be reporting to the Payroll Director, this role is responsible for supporting the Workday initiative, establishing payroll processing procedures, pay analysis and acquisition support.
A typical day for a Sr Payroll Analyst may include:
Support Payroll Director in establishing and maintaining proper controls around the auditing of payroll input/output to ensure payments are accurate.
Conduct business process and system analysis of payroll earnings, taxes, deductions, and accruals, develop charts, prepare reports, and conduct trend analyses
Build metric reporting, maintain and interpret results/trends
Provide functional support to the payroll operations team while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and processes.
Develop and maintain process documentation and process flows, as required.
Communicate with internal and external customers to gather information and requirements, translate data collected into design documentation for new or changing processes, develop testing scenarios and end-user acceptance criteria.
Participate in presentations/training on payroll system and business processes
Provide suggestions for process improvements, which focus on sustainability, efficiency, and innovation; assist with implementations
Support acquisition integration and divestiture activities
Support other strategic payroll initiatives, projects and questions as assigned
Perform all activities in accordance with the Company's Mission, Vision and Values, and in compliance with the Company's policies, procedures, and Code of Ethical Business Conduct
You may be a good fit if you:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or business preferred or equivalent work experience
5 - 7 years of experience in business analysis and payroll
Workday and union experience preferred
Excellent quantitative, analytical, interpersonal and communications skills
Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a dynamic environment
Ability to multi-task and support multiple activities/projects
Self-motivated with ability to work with minimal supervision in a team environment
Advanced Excel skills
