You will work directly with a named GSI to drive exponential growth through the development of their industry vertical, practice areas, skill sets, and go-to-market with AWS. (10010)

Your responsibilities as Partner Development Manager, US-within our AMER business relationship is to build executive and field relationships with a major Global Systems Integrator. By establishing and growing business and technical relationships, and managing the day-to-day interactions with this partner, you will be responsible for driving top line revenue growth, top line pipeline funnel creation, territory and/or industry sales plan creation and execution, capability development, major strategic agreements, and overall end customer adoption for this named GSI. The ideal candidate will possess the business background that enables them to engage at the CXO level, the channel experience to understand the needs and capabilities of their partner, and the sales background needed to easily interact with customers and sales/field reps. He/she should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions. Preference is to have Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial and Automotive experience as this may be a focus for this GSI in this role. Overall industry knowledge is acceptable.

Candidate can sit anywhere close to a major AWS office, preferred location is Midwest out of our Chicago Office.

Key job responsibilities

  • Work with AWS Industry and territory sales managers and your partner to define and execute joint sales and go to market programs.

  • Manage and drive joint sales engagements between the partner and AWS sales teams.

  • Serve as a key member of the business development team in helping to define and deliver the joint solution set and supporting collateral for industry and service campaigns.

  • Engage the partner's field sales organization, channels, and end customers to create and drive revenue opportunities for AWS.

  • Set a strategic business development plan for target market segments and ensure it is in-line with the AWS strategic direction.

  • Identify specific customer segments and industry verticals to approach with a joint value proposition for using AWS.

  • Position AWS for internal use by the partner organization.

  • Work closely with the partner's customer base to ensure they are successful using our web services, making sure they have the technical resources required.

  • Ensure that AWS is the partner's preferred cloud computing platform across all product lines.

  • Understand the technical and capability requirements of our partners and work closely with the internal development team to guide the direction of our product offerings.

  • Understand and advocate for the use of salesforce.com and other internal Amazon systems.

  • Prepare and give business reviews to the senior executive management team.

  • Manage complex contract negotiations and serve as a liaison to the legal group.

About the team

Work with Partner Sales facing teams and AWS sales facing teams to grow and execute AWS and Partner sales Pipeline.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

  • -Experience in shaping and driving large software-centric deals: candidate should understand trends, challenges, dynamics, and prevailing business and technology solutions in the cloud space that either inhibit or accelerate enterprise transformation

  • -Strong presentation, sales, and negotiation skills.

  • -Strong writing skills

    • Should be able to think out of the box and establish thought leadership with top management of customers/partners
    • Ability to prepare and give business reviews to the senior management team.
  • -10+ years of sales, consulting, partner management or business alliance development in the enterprise software and/or cloud space

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations

  • Experience identifying, negotiating, and executing complex legal agreements

  • Previous experience driving growth within a GSI/SI organization with Software as a Service or other cloud-based technologies

    • Highly motivated, possess a strong sense of ownership
    • Exceptional organizational skills, high integrity and accountability
    • Ability to present positioning and messaging clearly
    • Excellent business judgement and the demonstrated ability to think and act both strategically and tactically.
    • Experience with sales enablement activities.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
