The Paralegal provides support to, and works under the direction of, the attorneys in the Legal Department and assists with primarily (i) the procurement and maintenance of the Company's state and federal distribution and manufacturing licenses and (ii) routine commercial contracting legal matters in addition to assisting with other legal department needs.
Lead the Company's efforts to acquire and maintain licenses/permits necessary to operate the Company's business (e.g., state boards of pharmacy licenses, DEA registrations).
Review and monitor new and updated regulations applicable to the pharmaceutical and medical device industries.
Serve as a liaison between the Company and the state boards of pharmacy to address licensure matters, and participate, and, if necessary, lead internal cross-disciplinary teams related to licensing matters.
Manage relationship with external vendors.
Prepare various legal documents.
Assist with the drafting of resolutions and other corporate documents and maintain corporate records typical in the operation of a private company.
Review, draft, and revise/negotiate routine contracts, including, but not limited to confidentiality, vendor, and consulting agreements.
Perform legal, factual and records research.
Organize and maintain legal files and databases.
Work with sophisticated document management programs.
At least 5-10 years of relevant experience, either within a (i) law firm or in-house legal department or (ii) corporate commercial contracting department.
Bachelor's degree required.
Paralegal certificate preferred.
Proficient in Word, Outlook, Excel, and document/workflow management systems.
Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to handle a diverse workload.
