Job Description:

Sledgehammer Games, located in Foster City, CA, is currently seeking an experienced Senior Outsource Asset Artist to join our growing team. If you can model and texture industry leading assets, and have an interest in setting the quality bar for our work, then we are looking for you.

Your Mission:

  • Help to define and champion the quality bar for our props and assets.

  • Model and texture high quality 3D props and assets.

  • Assist in asset reviews, critiques, and establishing best practices for external and internal teams.

  • Mentor and direct integration artists on final polish.

  • Troubleshoots technical and artistic issues.

  • Communicates effectively with team members, production and management to ensure that project goals are met.

  • Interface with Tech Art to help drive asset creation workflow and tool chain improvements.

Player Profile:

  • 5+ years of experience creating high-quality 3D art assets and levels for AAA games.

  • Ability to create realistic 3D props, and textures from concept art and photo reference.

  • Deep understanding of physically based shaders.

  • Proficient in next-gen asset creation.

  • Well-seasoned in environment art set dressing techniques and best practices to help guide asset requests.

  • Highly proficient in Maya, Substance Painter, Photoshop and Zbrush.

  • Passion for gaming.

  • Experience with a level editor (i.e. Unreal, Unity, Frostbite, Radiant, etc)

Bonus XP:

  • Strong understanding of fundamental art skills and foundations.

  • First Person Shooter development experience.

  • Experience working with outsource studios.

This Technical Artist should have a strong eye for art quality and knowledge of real-time graphics pipelines. Your Mission: * Collaborate across disciplines to improve studio tools and pipelines. * Generate rigged assets, iterating with animators and engineers on fixes, improvements and alterations as the assets are applied to the game. * Proactively identify problems, propose solutions and work fluidly with other team members. * Push the graphical limitations of our engine, maintain frame rate requirements, and deliver content within memory and disk footprint budgets. * Create tools and processes that facilitate content authoring with an emphasis on user experience, quality and productivity.
