The Senior Executive Coach of Transformation reports to the Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer (CQO) and is responsible for leading Connecticut Children's Organizational Excellence program and for providing the individual coaching associated with Organizational Excellence 3.0 and Organizational Excellence 4.0 programs. This role is a leadership change agent, which develops, coaches, and facilitates teams in identifying and addressing human and organizational factors that will help facilitate Connecticut Children's vision. This person is responsible for the development and delivery of CC's Organizational Excellence curriculum and the strategy and delivery of individual coaching.

The Senior Executive Coach of Transformation plays a key role in the development and coaching of a principle-based leadership platform which will enable a culture of alignment to our vision, respect for every individual and zero harm throughout the organization including programs throughout our care alliance partners and satellite locations. The Senior Executive Coach of Transformation will make decisions that reflect the contributory role of nursing, pharmacy, physicians, other providers, other team members and leadership and is responsible for providing transformation recommendations relative to strategic functions of the organization. This leader plays a key role in the organization's commitment to quality, patient safety and transformation.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists and supports executive team in defining and evolving organizational excellence programs, facilitated events (i.e., Illuminations), coaching and educational opportunities.

  • Enhances the organization's competency in improvement science, individual development, change management and principle based leadership.

  • Works with the team members to educate and support activities and initiatives related to the transformation of work systems and team members.

  • Design, implement, and support the transformation efforts to support Connecticut Children's vision. For instance, the evolution of the Daily Management System.

  • Create and deliver systems to manage the Organizational Excellence Learning Programs (Org Ex 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0).

  • Design, develop and deliver the modules for the Organizational Excellence Learning Programs (Org Ex 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0).

  • Create systems to support the use of the Gallup Strengths assessment to offer a leadership platform development component in the Organizational Excellence Learning Programs and for clients outside of the Organizational Excellence Learning Programs.

  • create systems to support the use of the EQi 2.0 Emotional Intelligence Assessment to offer a leadership platform development component in the Organizational Excellence Learning Programs and for clients outside of the Organizational Excellence Learning Programs.

  • Provide coaching and consulting support to many leaders at different levels in the organization and serve as one of the success factors on their leadership platform.

  • Develop and deliver 3-hour Strengths Workshops for departments to support Team Development.

  • Design and develop content to support the Leadership Discovery Continual Improvement module

  • provide consultative services for the curriculum design, development and delivery for the Quality and Patient Safety modules of the Popik Family Quality and Patient Safety Fellowship

  • Design, develop and deliver of Organizational Excellence Advance Learning modules (i.e., Black Belt Community)

  • Design, develop and deliver the modules for the Executive Track of the Organizational Excellence Program

  • Collaborates with other internal subject matter experts (i.e. Organizational Effectiveness, other HR leadership) across CC to effectively interpret feedback, deliver leadership and management learning and education programs.

  • Assists leaders and teams to manage through change by leveraging best-in-class change management philosophies and methodologies.

  • Maintains awareness and responsiveness to relevant changes in the healthcare industry and executive coaching practices.

  • Provides distinctive technical/functional expertise and leadership for the organizational objectives.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare, Business Administration or related field.

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience enabling healthcare improvement required with demonstrated success

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in executive coaching.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience working with complex systems issues such as patient safety, quality, strategic initiatives or change management projects is preferred.

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with teaching and curriculum development of Lean/Six Sigma and SHINGO required.

Certified Gallup Strengths Coach required.

  • Certified EHS Emotional Intelligence coach required.

  • Certified Professional Coach (CPC) is required.

  • Black Belt Certification in Lean/Six Sigma preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration, team building and team engagement.

  • Master of change management skills.

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to identify stakeholders, plan steps, coordinate and allocate resources to accomplish goals and objectives in a timely manner, as well as ability to effectively produce deliverables.

  • Leadership skills, including comfort with decision-making responsibilities; coaching, teaching, and mentoring skills; and the ability to inspire and build confidence in others and to forge alliances and garner support.

  • Superior teamwork skills, both as a leader and a team member, combined with a track record of success. Strong people leadership skills both in direct reporting relationship and matrix-based leadership.

  • Strong sense of ownership and high level of accountability. Ability to work independently and to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

  • Ability to identify group behaviors and needs and determine appropriate interventions on the spot and be skilled at working with difficult groups
