Responsible for the direction of the Fluid Department production activities across a 7 day, 4 shift operation, ensuring maximum operating efficiency and product quality. Ensure all jobs are performed safely, efficiently and accurately to maintain and improve the performance of the entire plant in alignment with Safety, Quality and Reliability and our Customer 1st strategy. Develop direct reports to drive improvement across plant performance. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support and participate in plant safety process.

  • Apply analysis and knowledge of plant processing and operations to develop and maintain department structure; effectively group production functions and establish areas of responsibility to satisfy production needs and objectives.

  • Advance recommendations on policies, procedures, techniques, facilities, production planning and all other matters related to effective plant and department operations of the operations.

  • Ensure things happen on schedule. Must be highly organized and systematic in approach.

  • Assis in the preparation of production portion of operating budgets; implement and control approved budgets.

  • Communicate effectively with plant leadership to ensure efficient and timely policy implementation.

  • Communicate and coordinate responsibilities with all plant supervisory staff including Maintenance, Sanitation, Quality Control and Office.

  • Keeping abreast of all sales and marketing activities that may affect production within responsible department.

  • Develop and implement methods for enabling all employees to achieve plant production goals.

  • Develop direct reports to the fullest extent of their ability, while maintaining positive engagement.

  • Provide regular feedback to direct reports, leads, and associates on performance against department and plant goals and objectives.

  • Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.

  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 Systems.

  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a discipline supporting food manufacturing operations.

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations.

  • Proven leadership ability.

  • Strong attention to detail, with high degree of accuracy and precision.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of plant operations and procedures.

  • Ability to comprehend complex verbal and written instructions.

  • Essential math skills.

  • Functional knowledge and use of Microsoft products including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Working knowledge of Total Process Control (TPC) or lean manufacturing practices.

Desired Previous Job Experience

  • Previous experience as supervisor or other mid-level management position in a manufacturing plant.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-07T00:00 Position Summary: * Responsible for the supervision of all processing personnel assigned to the department. * Work with team leaders to resolve operational issues. * Communicate with Fluid Supervisors to ensure finished product quality standards and schedules (i.e. production, sanitation) are met. * Conduct regularly scheduled team meetings with associates assigned to department. * Provide Plant Production Manager and Director of Plant Operations a written report summarizing meeting activities, operational issues, quality related issues, ideas for process improvement and innovation. * Assist Quality Assurance Manager and Plant Production Manager in scheduling and participating in sensory evaluation sessions of all finished products. * Ensure production and sanitation activities meet all corporate and regulatory safety, quality and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements. * Ensure all finished products meet corporate and regulatory quality standards. * Ensure that day-to-day production operations are successfully accomplished. * Ensure that company/department policies and procedures are adhered to and enforced. * Ensure that shifts are adequately staffed for the following weeks workload. * Ensure that vacations and personal/sick days are properly scheduled and coordinated across shifts. * Conduct associate performance evaluations for new hires, transfers, and as a part of the annual performance review process. * Work with Department Trainer to ensure that associates newly assigned or transferred to the department are properly and adequately trained. * Work with the Training Specialist to identify training and developmental opportunities for individual associates. * Work with the Training Specialist and Department Trainer to identify department training needs for the entire team. * Coach and support development of team leaders and associates assigned to the department. * Set a good example on a daily basis by his/her actions and attitude. * Ensure that associates assigned to the department maintain adherence to work hours scheduled specifically starting, quitting, lunch and break schedules. * Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provides feedback to direct reports. * Is responsible for hiring, associate training and development, motivation and discipline. Shall work closely with senior management and the human resource department to facilitate personnel administration and to assure compliance with pertinent legal and policy issues at all times. * Ensure all associates perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) regulations and safety guidelines. * Provide guidance to assure programs, policies and practices are implemented and effective to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements. * In the absence of the Processing Supervisor, the Production Manager or his/her designee will assume decision making responsibilities that are necessary to assure food products are safe and meet quality requirements.
