The United States Industrial Gas (USIG) division of Praxair, Inc. is currently seeking a Mobile Nitrogen Pumper Operator in the LaPorte, TX area.
This position is accountable for safely, reliably, and efficiently operating mobile nitrogen pumping equipment at customer locations (i.e., refineries, chemical plants, steel mills, pipeline facilities, and electrical generation stations, etc.). In addition, this position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of company equipment.
Adhere to Praxair safety principles, policies and guidelines
Operate nitrogen pumping and vaporizing equipment unassisted while in compliance with all applicable policies.
Perform PPL specialty services with assistance
Maintain Interstate CDL Class A with all required endorsements and operate a CMV safely and effectively while in accordance with Praxair and Federal Motor Carriers Safety Regulations
Ensure effective communication with customer, supervision and team as needed
Complete required job reports including: job site logs, service agreements, transport logs, etc. Reports must be completed timely and accurately by using manual and/or computer systems. Complete safety checklists and conduct pre-job discussions at job sites.
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment
Adhere to the work schedule including afterhours, call in, weekend, and holidays
Comply with Praxair travel policies, expense reporting and payroll requirements
Complete training as required to maintain compliance (ex: LMS, WBT, OSHA, customer training, etc.)
Assist with training other technicians
Assist with planning and coordinating jobs including multiple equipment/personnel projects
Complete additional duties as assigned
Minimum of 3 years relevant experience (ex: chemical, refining, military or technical training)
Substantial on-the-job practical experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Technical Degree or training preferred
Maintain interstate Class A CDL with required endorsements
Must meet applicable PSI and customer screening requirements (ex: TWIC, DISA, ASAP, etc.)
Advanced operational knowledge of cryogenic pumping equipment
Intermediate knowledge of PPL specialty service lines
