Sr Network Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer will have extensive experience in managing, configuring, and securing firewalls and network infrastructure equipment. This candidate will be skilled in route/switch technologies and will have hands-on experience with industry-leading firewall platforms.

Job Responsibilities

• Administer, support, and troubleshoot dedicated cyber defense hardware and software solutions, including NGFW, IDS/IPS and WAF.

• Administer, support, and troubleshoot global network infrastructure, including but not limited to WAN, Cloud, and OT environments.

• Monitor firewall performance, manage firewall upgrades, and execute security policies.

• Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks.

• Collaborate with IT teams to implement security best practices and response strategies.

• Provide technical guidance and support for firewall and network security issues.

• Maintain documentation for network configurations and security procedures.

• Ensure cybersecurity best practices are followed to comply with recognized frameworks (NIST, CIS Critical Security Controls, OWASP, etc.).

• Work collaboratively with teams to achieve project deliverables and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or specialized training/certification or equivalent work experience.

• 5-8 years of experience in firewall administration and network security

• High level understanding of managing NGFWs, ACLs, security policies, web filtering and threat prevention solutions.

• Strong understanding of network protocols, IPsec, VPNs, and other security related technologies

• Proficient in routing and switching technologies.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

• High degree of initiative, dependability, and able to lead work with little supervision while being resilient to change.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong customer service, interpersonal and soft skills.

Desired Qualifications:

• CCNP or higher

• Experience managing and configuring PaloAlto and Check Point firewalls; certifications in these platforms are highly desirable.

• Experience managing and configuring Cloudflare WAF.

• Experience managing ACLs and security policies in AWS and/or OCI.
